ALG Defense AK Recoil Spring

The type of material alone used in making these springs is a vast improvement over the recoil spring found in commercially available AK's. I purchased mine through another vendor at a higher price and am extremely confident in the even less prone to fail properties this recoil spring offers. The original style spring is in truth not known for being prone to fail but this true upgrade should NEVER fail. In all honesty I could not tell the difference between using this spring and the fully functioning spring that came with my Arsenal AK but the material it is made of is superior to the simple carbon steel spring that came with my AK

Like changing your oil in your car, changing your recoil spring in your AK platform is a must especially if you run old parts kits like myself I have three "AKs" and everyone is wearing an ALG recoil spring it's short money and pays dividends old recoil springs increase felt recoil and can allow the bolt carrier to slam into the rear of your reciever... No bueno so spend the short money and grab a couple.

Took possession of a vintage Norinco Mak 90 whose recoil spring had given up the ghost. Replaced with ALG and now no more peoblems. Plan for a struggle as this recoil spring was a bear to install due to increased tension

Grabbed one of these for my Zastava M70 and it is hands down the best upgrade for the money. The spring is smooth and consistent and it reduces felt recoil very well. Very hard to beat the performance gained for $12. I highly recommend buying one if you have any 7.62mm AK and would like to smooth out the action a bit.

Wow, does this send the bolt home! I just installed this on my AK and before (with the stock spring) the bolt carrier group would drag across the hammer and sometimes stick. Not anymore, it's like the hammer says nope can't stop that. Best 12 I've spent in a looooong time!

I've used these in two builds so far, and both make the action very smooth. Price is good, and cheaper than the Wolff spring by a few bucks, so that's a win.

This is very very hard to install compared to a traditional recoil spring but it is much better than the throwaway springs that Zastava and WBP use.

I installed this on KR 103 from K USA. Replacement was bit challenging due to rigidity of the spring. I recommend to watch youtube video. After installation, charging is bit harder and more rigid than before.

At range, I could tell much lighter recoil. no more banging against my shoulder. I think cartridges discharging higher at 3 o'clock.

It is indeed the best budget upgrade for your AK.
