The Battle Arms Development Bad-Ass-Pro Ambidextrous Safety Selector is a professional-grade, no non-sense, duty grade semi-auto safety selector, making it the perfect upgrade to your AR-15. The standard and short safety levers are fully interchangeable and modular to accommodate left or right-handed shooters. The Bad Ass Pro by Battle Arms Development is compatible with all known AR variant lower receivers, and triggers designed to work with the “Mil-Spec” AR-15 semi-auto safeties. This Ambidextrous safety eliminates the need for a short-throw relief cut on your lower receiver to use the safety, simply use the provided short-throw markings sticker. This means you no longe have to choose which trigger is compatible with the safety. If the trigger will work with a Mil-Spec AR-15 semi-auto safety, it will work with the Battle Arms Bad Ass Pro. Lost a lever the first day

by -

This safety installed easily and operated smoothly, a definite upgrade. However, when I got home I noticed the long lever was missing. It had come off at the range within the first 200 rounds. I have since read some additional reviews that had a similar issue. Had I have know that before I purchased I would have bought a different safety.

Good Stuff

by -

Solid construction and easy installation. 60° or 90°, Long side or short side all easy peasey.

Great fit

by

One of my Favorite Safety’s , it feels good and works

Weak side broke off

by -

This safety has a very solid and great feeling action on par with the radian safety I have in another gun. I originally wanted to get another radian safety but they were sold out so I chose this one, and plus it was a little cheaper. Unfortunately one of the ears on the weak side broke off, thankfully being ambi I can still use it, but still unfortunate. I reached out to the company and have received no response, so I ordered another weak side lever, and have now spent about just as much as I would have if I had just bought the radian in the first place. Despite the solid action, I still would not recommend this safety lever as I have no idea how long the levers themselves will stay on. Primary arms on the other hand is an amazing company that I will forever be buying from and cannot praise them enough.

Love it

by -

I replaced my 90 degree safety with this and I do love it. I love the height of the selector switch as it is very easy to activate but not so high/thick that is interferes with your movement. After I installed this I took a 2 day rifle class and was generally very happy with the safety. The good: size of the selector switches fit my needs perfectly, I had 100% success putting it on and taking it off under a lot of stressful and difficult situations. It was very easy to just flick it and it changed states 100% reliably.

Given this I'm giving it 4 starts instead of 5 because about 2 hours into the first day of the class the abmi side (small lever) fell off and left me with just the main switch. The safety still worked fine but I had to find the short lever and reinstall it. The rest of the class (about 14 hours of continuous use and shooting) it stayed in place. I hope this was a "one off" event.

Not sure about this one

by -

When installed, levers protruded from the side of the receiver about 1/8" on each side-the barrel of the safety appears to be too long compared to a single safety selector. Reinstalled my original selector and put this in the parts bin, too much hassle to return it. It is well made and easy to install, just don't like the way it sticks out.

Great Selector Switch

by -

I have many of these as I use them for all of my builds. They are great selector switches that operate very smoothly. I use the 60 degree setting as I find it much easier to guarantee I get the safety on or off when running fast paced drills or from unusual shooting positions. The thickness of the selector arms is just enough to get very good purchase but not so much as to stick out too far.

Some tips:
- Apply lube to all of the parts, including the detent springs, as you assemble it. Then activate the switch a few dozen times to break it in. This isn't necessary but I find it makes the movement of the switch super smooth.

-As some other have noted, during shooting one of the selector arms can fall off. This happened to me twice on brand new builds before I figured out how to prevent it from occurring. During installation simply use a bit of blue threadlocker and make sure you apply a good amount of torque to the screw. If you do that it won't come loose or fall off.

Lever fell off soon after install

by -

I liked the way this looked and went together, but within a month of installing it (I followed the instructions and install wasn't particularly difficult) the larger non-ambi side lever fell off. I will order a Radian or Blackout defense, I don't want a safety selector falling off while in the case on the way to the range or getting bumped in the safe.
