Did not work

300 Black out would not cycle with this bolt carrier group in the suppressed setting. Set it to the unsurpassed setting and cycled fine. For the money it's not worth the purchase....go with a regular BCG.
Solid on mk18
by Pierce
Other guns I have to test out the difference gas options. But shooting it on full suppressed mode on a mk18 with h2 buffer weight with a can, it shoots very soft with a nice consistent 4 o’clock ejection. I wasn’t expecting it to change it that much. It won’t cycle in suppressed mode without a suppressor though. Which also shows how much of a difference it makes
Fails to pickup second round
by Jamie -
I have done a significant amount of testing with this BCG and it fails to pickup a second round (fully cycle) with my BCM 14.5 and JP Enterprises SCS when fired unsuppressed. It doesn't have an issue when suppressed under the correct setting. I swapped to my old Gemtech (from a different rifle) and it worked perfectly. I contacted the company 15 days ago, they responded 1 time and it has been radio silence. I would not buy again and looking to return to Primary Arms.
Great option for Supressed use.

Picked this up to make my 11.5 a little less gassy/violent when shooting supressed, which it is doing a great job at. Simple adjustments, and the bolt and carrier itself seems to be of good build quality.
Stop screwing around and buy it

I don’t often return to review things.
After much frustration with a suppressed, over-gassed mid-length 13.7, I have a perfectly gassed rifle. I had gone through the trouble of changing to heavier buffers, buffer springs, “gas-busting” charging handles all to avoid putting an adjustable gas block which would one day fail and require a lot of work to replace.
Finally, someone recommended this BCG to me and it solved my problems in 3 seconds. If you’re still on the fence, let me know and I’ll ship you all my BS parts at a discount from attempting to gas the rifle appropriately.
Makes shooting my suppressed AR much more comfortable

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the gun ran well both suppressed and unsuppressed on the "U" setting. Gasses at the cheek weld were reduced in both configurations.
I always use these adjustable BCG...

I exclusively use these great Bootleg adjustable BCGs for my builds. I'm always suppressed and these Bootleg BCGs work great with 5.56, 300 Blackout subs and supers, and 300 HAM'R. All function excellently.
I need a few more and ALL of my uppers will be properly equipped with adjustable BCGs.
Bootleg-Gas Adjustable BCG

Excellent machine work and finish. Functions as intended. Helped tame the big gas produced by my 8.5” .458 SOCOM (yes I used my .458 bolt w/bootleg carrier).
Could not be more pleased.

Product is As advertised. Runs flawless on the suppressor setting or unsuppressed setting.
Great for suppressor use
by Andrew
The biggest benefit here is reduced gas-to-face. Makes a big difference.
I have 2 of these. One gun is suppressor use only, and I primarily use this for the gas-to-face issue.
Other gun has an adjustable gas system which is tuned for unsuppressed use. When I add a can (which causes harder cycling), I then flip the knob on the Bootleg to the suppressed setting.
The coating on the BCG is okay. It's not fancy, but it'll do.
