What a great sight. I definitely think this is better than a red dot. The holographic sight is always on point and doesn't seem to shift if your eye location is a little off, and makes it much easier to use both eyes open with the large clear glass. So far it survived one accidental fall and nothing happened, heh. It was also quick to zero, almost exactly on point when I tried it at 100 meters for the first time which was very surprising. So far from what I know the battery life span is supposed to last 600 hours.
There are two minor downsides I would say about this thing. The first being the weight, it comes in at around 11ish ounces compared to just below 8 ounces for an aimpoint red dot. But it is expected from this big sexy thing, not a big deal currently but eventually ounces start adding up to pounds.
The second downside is a 2 year warranty. I was expecting something more, at least 5 years since you never know what could happen.
Primary Arms also has the best price.

If you can afford the Eotech reflex sight, get one ASAP. I have two of them. They FKn rule. Fast, FAST!! target acquisition, tough, water proof. Yup. You NEED this.
Loved it until I crapped the bed

It was my 2nd outing with this optic and I felt like I should leave “the best for last”. It was sitting in the sun for less than an hour while I zeroed and fired a couple of my other weapons and when I got to this one I initially thought my battery was dead but after some searching for the reticle it was far to the right by about 8ft and high by another 8ft while at 50yds. After returning home to 74 degree air conditioning the reticle was back to my initial zero hahahahah. I sent it back to eotech so they can look at it but I have absolutely no confidence in this optic anymore. I assume the heat caused extreme thermal drift but I can’t imagine how this “duty grade” optic was being outperformed by my holosun 510c under the exact same conditions.
Apparently this optic works well in a climate controlled environment but if you intend to purchase an optic that YOUR LIFE WILL DEPEND ON I implore you to go with an aimpoint or even a holosun/votex for your own safety.
Awesome
