Surprisingly impressive rail
by Terry -
I bought a couple of these rails for builds that I’m doing with my boys. I liked these because they were smaller diameter, have mlok everywhere, have a continuous top rail, and have anti rotation tabs.
What I didn’t expect was how impressed I’d be with the lockup system on the barrel nut. The key fits in a groove in the barrel nut and there is a screw that goes into the key that gets tighter into the barrel nut as you tighten it. There are 2 other screws on either side of that screw and what you end up with is a very rigid lockup system. It’s definitely a better mounting system than my Midwest Industries combat rail.
Solid

I just put one of these rails on my build and it feels very solid, and locks up tight. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a wrench that fits the barrel nut, and a standard armorers tool wont work on it. Other than that being a bit of a hassle I've very happy with the hand guard.
Nice

Very well made. Good looking and easy to assemble. I will be buying another soon for my next build
Nice Rail
by Nick -
It's a nice rail for the price. There are a few issues however. First off for whatever reason unlike other Expo rails it doesn't come with a barrel nut wrench. So unless you happen to have a 1 3/16 crowsfoot laying around plan on spending another $20+ to buy one. Secondly, and I'm not sure if this is the case with all uppers, the barrel nut has to be shimmed for the rail to be able to installed correctly. Props to Primary Arms though. I called and explained the issues and they sent me a pack of Aero shims (of which I used all 8 to get it correctly installed, and a $25 gift certificate which covered the price of the barrel nut wrench I had to buy. I would recommend having barrel nut shims before you install this rail in case you need them.
High Quality

This is quite the handguard. I was able to pick one up for 20% off and I consider it a steal. Great finish and it's nice and lightweight. Very solid lockup to an aero m4 upper. The provided barrel nut is lightweight. No sharp edges anywhere. Why spend 2-4 times more when this handguard is available? No, you're not a tier 1 operator.
Best budget handguard

Love it. Simple, excellent finish and sturdy.
Best that I have found for under $100
by Darron
I have built 8 AR15 platform weapons and I needed a hand guard that was as close to 14” as I could get. Expo had the closest so I ordered the 13.5” version and it looks great. I could not be happier with the way it feels and how solid the connection between the hand guard and the barrel nut is. No timing issues getting the gas tube lined up either. Very easy install. I highly recommend this model hand guard!
Took a chance, will definitely buy again

Quality product for a reasonable price. Matched perfectly with an Aero Precision upper (wish I could attach a picture to show). Barrel nut went on fine and easily torqued with a 1-3/16" crowsfoot wrench.
Pleasantly surprised

Excellent fit and finish. Matched perfectly with an Aero Precision Upper and the attachment system to the barrel nut is secure and easy to align. I used a 1 3/16 crowfoot to torque the barrel nut.
Good solid product

This is the second one of this series I've purchased. Decided to swap it with it's little brother (9-1/2") because it would look better on the 16" carbine. Having only to undo three screws and the lock nut to swap out made it nice and easy. The 9-1/2" will be used for a different project.
Being this was on sale, that made it even better and truthfully, the carbine looks better this this handguard. I would not hesitate to purchase again and recommend it to anyone who is considering Expo Arms handguards.
