The FN America M16 Bolt Carrier Group is made from high quality components and manufacturing processes to ensure reliability in your next build. The added weight of the M16 profile helps to reduce bolt bounce as well as increase dwell time in full auto applications and is still great for use in semi automatic AR-15 platforms. The durable Manganese Phosphate finish and chrome lined internals will last thousands of rounds while the staked gas key won't come loose. If you are in the market for a Mil-Spec 5.56 BCG, you can't go wrong with FN America.

Features:
  • M16 Profile

Fantastic BCG at an outlandish price

by

The BCG deserves 5 stars. I'd take a star off for price but I'm not reviewing what I paid, I'm reviewing the product and it's damn perfect. The bolt itself is marked with HPT/MPI and specs out to prefection, exactly what you would expect from an FN product or a bolt at this price point. You don't get fancy domed cam pins, fancy coatings, or gimmicky marketing ploys. You get a damn reliable BCG at a price where you'd expect nothing less. In this time of ammunition and parts drought you get what you get. And with this you get a reliable, trustworthy BCG I'd be willing to bet my life on.

FN Bolt Carrier Group

What else can you say, It's FN. A Lifetime Investment BCG

Quality Control Problems?

by -

My BCG arrived with a piece of what appears to be metal slag about 1/8" in diameter and raised about an 1/8" welded to the flat face on the top of the carrier in front of the cam pin. Additionally, there is a very small, but deep gouge in the left side of the gas key that produced a small sharp burr. Primary Arms provided excellent customer service and was happy to process an exchange. However, for almost $275 shipped for a BCG produced by reputable company such as FN I expected this to never be an issue.

It was good to speak to you on this issue and we will get you taken care of.

In another class..

by -

This FN bcg is obviously from a different world than the other three BCGs that currently have access to. The smoothness of the bolt is silk-like, while the nitrite Anderson and Bear Creek, and an Areo Precision bcg that is also phosphate/chromed lined, are far from silk-like. From now on will look at all aftermarket commercial BCGs as range junk, altho some outfits like SonicsWS may be OK. But if you're putting together a zombie/SHTF gun, why risk it, stick with FN (currently producing the Army's M4 carbine), or assume Colt is comparable..

How do I know this is really an FN BCG?

by

I had to get a tougher extractor spring because the old one had too much play with just my fingers.
The gas rings failed at about 735 rounds.

I'd except more from FN.
I could pay half as much and get twice the BCG with PSA.
