The Geissele Super 42 Spring brings a three-strand braided wire design to AR-15 buffer systems, inspired by the German MG42 machine gun, giving shooters improved reliability by letting each strand flex independently. Built to reduce spring failure and excess vibration, this AR-15 buffer spring delivers a stronger, more consistent return force than a standard mil-spec spring.

The three independent wire strands flex separately from each other, acting as a harmonic damper that displaces excess energy and reduces the chance of spring failure compared to a standard single-strand spring. The stronger 15% average return force helps strip rounds from the magazine even with a dirty weapon or steel-case ammunition. This spring is built specifically for carbine-length buffer tubes and is not compatible with rifle-length or A5 buffer tubes and receiver extensions; Geissele offers a separate rifle-length Super 42 spring for those configurations. It's also not recommended for use with .300 Blackout subsonic ammunition, since its stronger return force can be too powerful for the rifle to cycle reliably with subsonic loads.

so I`m not a reddit operator or expert but an average shooter I guess
got in on sale for 49.99 and run it with a PWS MK111 upper suppressed
it runs great with the gun and i haven`t heard this annoying "twang" in the stock tube when loading or shooting that I had with the OEM one the lower came with
Noticable difference

Call me crazy but this took away a noticable 10-15% recoil in my 16". Also that "TWANGG" sound is now non existent. Highly, highly recommend. Worth every penny.
Great combo

I had seen a lot of recommendations about the super 42 / H2 combo. Works great in my 11.3 BCM. Might buy another and put it in my other rifle
Absolute big change

I purchased this set because I wanted a better feel when shooting my DB-15 and let me tell ya it transformed my carbine into a totally different rifle when it comes to reducing recoil.

A definite upgrade

So we all have the tendency to want to refine our rifles to our exact preference. After trying different springs and buffer weights i decided to give this a try. I now have this in both a 11.5" DD and a 16" DD. I replaced the standard buffer spring and buffer to a H2 and springco blue. I still was not satisfied with the recoil impulse and wanted it to be better. I am happy i made this purchase as it reduced the felt recoil by about 20-30% IMO. Is it a game changer and an absolute must? No, but it truly changes the recoil impulse to something that feels more tame than a standard, or even, upgraded spring. Would i buy it again? Hell yes. I will be placing this in my third rifle right after writing this review. If you're thinking about it and you have the extra cash just do it. It does also nearly eliminate the "twang" of a standard buffer spring.
