Details

Simplify the installation and removal of barrels, muzzle devices, gas blocks, and handguards with the AR-15 Reaction Rod from Geissele Automatics. The reaction rod redirects torque from the soft aluminum receiver and receiver index pin into the barrel extension. It is machined from a solid bar of 4140 chrome moly steel and features flats for securely clamping vertically or horizontally into a bench vice. This allows users to slide the upper receiver onto the rod, where the integral spines will interface with the locking lugs in the barrel's receiver extension. By transferring the torque into the locking lugs, sheared barrel pins are a thing of the past, and worry-free installation of barrel nuts, gas blocks, and muzzle devices is possible. As a bonus, with no wiggling in clamped fixtures, the Reaction Rod won't mar your receiver's finish and doesn't require the removal of mounted optics or iron sights.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT

PRIMARY Arms had the best price and I received my Geissele rod quickly. With the increase in the number of manufactures making billet lowers it gets expensive buying different mounts for each one. The G rod works on all of them without worrying about scratching the finish or putting undue stress on, what can at times, be a very expensive lower. If you had a "unicorn" lower would you trust it to a cheap delron and pin mount?

Interesting new device

The Geissele Reaction Rod is built like a tank. So far all I've done with it is remove a muzzle device and barrel nut but it worked fine for that. However, if the device is not held vertically in the vice it will slip in the direction of the torque. Also the barrel will obviously slip off if the rod is angled downward.

The Reaction Rod is a good piece of kit for anyone who does more than basic maintenance on the AR platform.It allows assembly minimimizing stresses and allowing proper torquing. It is essential if assembling anything with an integrated rail such as the VLTOR VIS or Mega Monolithic.

The Reaction Rod is the most professional and sturdiest method available for working on anything on the upper. From barrel nuts and rails to muzzle devices on SBR's where there isn't any barrel to clamp, this is the only way to go.I fully expect this tool to outlive me. It's that well built.

Fantastic tool, priced too high

This tool does just what it says. It is fantastic to safely install and remove muzzle devices, and makes working on gas blocks quick work. I do have concerns about the pressure placed on the indexing pin when using this to install barrel nuts as opposed to an action block.

Worth the money. Used to install barrel and muzzle device without worry of damaging upper or breaking the index pin. Fits very securely into upper receiver on your feed ramps.
