Great handguard!!!
by LLOYD -
Everything is as advertised. What makes it so great is the simplicity of installing everything. There's no need to grab an armor's wrench and perfectly line up holes in the barrel nut and the hole in the upper receiver. Just torque it down and move on! Two screws clamp the handguard to the barrel nut. Easy peasy!
Good handguard. 30mm barrel nut, tool not included.

Bought this handguard when it was on sale for $35.99. It’s a good handguard, the one thing you need to know about it is that the barrel nut is a 30mm and to torque it properly you’ll need a 30mm crowfoot tool which is NOT included.
I’m gonna give this a four stars for value, assuming you’re buying this at the $35.99 when it’s on sale and not the regular $80 price. For $80 they shouldn’t least include the installation tool! MidwayUSA lists a 30mm crowfoot tool for their own budget series handguards for $6.99.
Another good this about this handguard is that you don’t have to line the gas tube up with notches like you do the delta-ring or 20 hole type barrel nuts. It’s super easy to get the pic rail on the guard aligned with your receiver since it doesn’t depend on the barrel nut to clock it. So assuming you can find the tool to torque the barrel nut installation is super easy.

Beefy

Very robust handguard. Excellent quality at any price, but at this price level it's truly amazing. I've used these on a few builds now and I'm always impressed with the fit, finish, and strength of this handguard and love the anonimity. As always, great service from Primary Arms.
Doesn’t secure well
by Christopher -
It slides forward on recoil after 1 magazine. It’s properly mounted and I’ve tried all the ways I know without modifying the hand guard. When it comes forward, it’s not a few millimeters, it came forward so much that it slipped off the barrel nut. Luckily the screws for my handstop caught my flash can and kept it from falling off.
Slips forward under recoil
by Christopher -
It does function as a hand guard but unfortunately slips forward under recoil pretty bad. 0.5”-1.0” of forward movement when firing less than a mag of ammo. Clamp screws are tight and locktite applied and allowed to fully cure. I am familiar with torque values and how to secure metal objects to one another. I’m a professional mechanic, these types of things are a daily occurrence for me. Using professional equipment worth more than the complete gun itself is worth and no luck. Based on my sample size of one, I’d look at other options in the future. I’d prefer to exchange this for something better and pay the difference. I’ll be contacting customer service to sort it out if they don’t reach out first from this review. That said, everything else was/is great. Lines up well, the rest of the fit and finish is good quality for the cost. All my magpul mlok parts hook up to the slots perfectly. My flash can fits under it very well, MBUS sights fit perfectly on the top pic rail.
Great Blem Sale!

Just installed on my 10.5 build. Used my existing barrel nut so I cant comment on that component. Clamped on mine just fine.
Not a good value, you get what you pay for.

The rail is supplied without instructions. While that is no big deal, you should be concerned as manufacturer doesn't give specs/torques or a help line if something were to give wrong. The finish is OK, but not pretty. The pic rails are a bit oversized and came with wear on them already (bad finish). The ends of the handguard were also marred a bit. There are also no anti rotation tabs, and the screws are very liable to strip before you hit a reasonable torque (the screw heads are also a bad fit for any screwdriver). You get what you pay for, just spend an extra $20 for an expo or better.
Pretty sweet
