Tanto blades draw inspiration from the short swords that were worn by samurai in feudal Japan. The angular edge of the blade makes for a stronger and prominent point, which is ideal for piercing through tough objects.

The toughness doesn't stop there. The G10 material used in the handle is a thermoset plastic laminate, that is built using high pressure on layers of fiberglass mesh cloth that are impregnated with an epoxy resin binder. The resulting material is called G10 and is not only used in knife handles but for gun handles.
