Good not great

The KNS Retaining Pin is a neat little idea. I put one in a Geissele RE-BCG and one in a Griffin Enhanced Gas Pocket BCG. It was difficult to get installed on both BCG's, but the good news is they do indeed retain the firing pin. If you don't need a retaining pin I do not recommend purchase. It is not really an upgrade, just nifty.

This pin is top shelf gear for fast and smooth take down and assembly of your BCG. Stop fighting with the factory pin and stick this one in. Cheap at whatever the cost.

Just buy it. It’s better than that cotter pin you always lose. Have one in every BCG I’ve bought or own.

The KNS PRECISION AR15/M16 FIRING PIN RETAINING PIN is a great replacement for the standard cotter pin and is what Eugene Stoner originally intended. If you follow the instructions to the letter and use care (can be difficult to install for the 1st time) the install will be fairly painless. The problem is when forced it (again follow the instructions) can break. Good thing KNS has a lifetime warranty for those who may need it. Once they have been used a few times they go in easier than the spread cotter pins.

When following the proper installation instructions it goes right in no problem. Shot hundreds of rounds after install still in one piece.
Not what they once were

Junk. Broke on installation. I have one of these I bought years ago that has been flawless. Sadly, it seems the quality has fallen big time. Not even worth the hassle to return it.
Breaks easily and not worth the cost.

Purchased two of these to replace difficult pins, sad to say they don't cut it. I tried them in three different BCGs,( Spikes, Odin, PSA) and the only one it worked easily in was the PSA ( was actually loose), one ended up breaking while putting it in the Spikes BCG. For the price of one you can get more than 10 of the standard pins.

This is the only KNS product that I can’t get behind. Broke 3 going in and 1 coming out. Still have some left but going back to the old cotter pin. Sometimes they take a little finessing but always work and if you have to throw one away it doesn’t cost as much.
