Great idea, poor execution
by Matt -
Great idea. But, the lower does not allow the pin to slide in all the way so you cannot put the c clip on. Even if you could, it doesn't look like the c clip would have enough room to fully seet on the pin.
KNS Quality, new and testing...
by AirborneVet -
I was unsure about this at first, but wanted to give it a shot. I'm not disappointed with it either. The C-Clips are a pain in the rear to get on, however it's a great fit. I'm using this on my Aero Precision Freedom lower build and it works.
No problems here

Works great and it's nice to have the ability to remove the bolt catch pin without much trouble. I found the best way to install the C-Clip is with a pair of tweezers, or at least get it started where it belongs and seat it with a punch. You can also use the tweezers to remove it if need be. When I first saw this item I went to my lath and made one to see just how effective it would be. Mine works but to have one that's the right color is a plus.
A Good Item But Not For DPMS
by ReconViper1 -
I bought one and was disappointed to find that it was too short, so I called KNS. They researched it and said that it would not fit my DPMS lower and offered to take it back if I had bought from them but I hadn't. I just kept it as it would cost as much to return it to PA as I had in it.
I built a carbine last weekend for a friend and used it on his Anderson lower where it fit perfectly. Will put one in my new lower.
Good Fit and Not Hard to Install
by Michael -
It fit my JD Machine upper really well.
I used a small straight blade screwdriver with a magnet. I stuck the clip to the end of the screwdriver, put it in place, and pushed it on.
What a great idea

It really goes on easily to Ruger and Spike's lowers. I sed it through a genuine Colt bolt catch without a problem. (I don't know why someone would downgrade this because their rifle is out of spec!!??!)
There are a few install ideas here. I used a roll pin starter (hollow) that was slightly smaller than the OD of the c-clip. Wrapped in masking tape. A very easy push for the clip to get on.
Great Product. If you have extra money use correct ones on your trigger pins as well.

Great product. However there is special set of punches in which the backs have a shallow hole drilled into it. This is done so you can put the spring pin in to get it started and drive it almost all the way in. Keeps you from slipping or jumping off. Then opposite side of the same punch has a special dimple that sits in the middle of the pin so when you drive it home flush, it will not slip off. Also about a quarter inch in from either side has a rubber section molded on so if your doing other jobs in a tight space the sides of punch will not leave any markings. As far as those pesky little half moon retaining clips if you look up spring half moon retaining clip installation/removal tool. You will find something that looks like a punch kit but is flat on the end with a bevel and a slice down the center. All you do is insert back end of clip into the tool and then push it on. To remove go to the open side of half moon retaining clip push tool against the clip and it will pop right off.
Great product, better if there was a length specified.

Looks like a great idea, that eliminates the risk of scratching a lower. Yet does not fit into "pre-ban" Essential Arms cast lower. The pin is too short. Would be nice to have a length spec to check before ordering.
Love it!

Excellent and innovative product, like some of their other newly patented parts. This pin slides in by hand like butter, and the clip retainer is easily attached by using a tweezer to place it and then snap in. Under a minute job!
Say Bye Bye to Painters Tape!

One of my favorite parts when building lowers. I actually use an old set of surgical clamps to snap them into place because the retaining clips are SUPER SMALL! I also do inspect it after i shoot and I have never lost a C-clip yet.... I hope I didn't jinx myself just now...
