Magpul QDM - Quick Disconnect Swivel

Needed a QD for my sling on a new AR-15 build. this was perfect, easy to install and very sturdy. Great product

I have these QD swivels on my Magpul MSI sling and really like them. Took a bit of getting used to...like all of 60 seconds. 'Pinch and pull' and they pop right in or right out. The button style QD swivels are kind of counter intuitive. You have to push down on the button while simultaneously pulling up on the swivel. And if you have fat sausage fingers it makes it even a little tougher. These swivels you just pinch them together low on the swivel and they easily disengage. Just reverse the process to install and they lock in nice and tight. Easy peasy. Solidly built quality as well.

Very reliable swivel that can't disengage on accidental press, which could render your gun useless if your gun drops and damages your optic or barrel end. I also find this much more intuitive than the push to release swivels. To remove it, you just pull it out, to connect it, just grasp it and put it in. It's just superior in everyway.

As it currently stands, this is my favorite QD swivel. I have found it to be more secure than most push button types without the recessed button as it requires activation from both sides simultaneously and can actually require 2 hands if sling material is close to the release tabs.

The biggest selling point however is the melonite.finish. I try to avoid black oxide/mag phosphated parts like the plague. I prefer nitride or DLC wherever possible due to the increased wear and corrosion resistance. These finishes are far superior to mil-spec and wish they were used more frequently. Is it overpriced for what it is? Sure, but it still seems to be the best option available so go for it.

Very functional design by Magpul. Having inadvertently hit QD mounts and having them fall off in the past, I decided to give these a try. Absolutely as advertised It's extremely unlikely to be accidentally released. I would rate them 5 stars for functionality but only 4 stars because of the price. Shipped quickly from Primary Arms.

This thing gives you the ability to disconnect from the gun by its inherent design which I find easier to manipulate than the std swivel with a push button on top... NOT equipped with a anti rotation feature though

The Magpul QDM is a great product to have on your AR. It lets me disconnect my sling from the AR as quickly as I attach it on.
