Magpul Zhukov Handguard - AK-47/74 - Black

On a PSA GF4 Moekov the short MOE hand guard gets hot very quickly, 15 rounds and you are considering gloves. I tried running a stubby fore grip the MOE only has one place it can mount which almost interferes with rocking in a 30 round mag. The Zhukov stays much cooler for longer, with the added length i moved my stubby grip closer to the muzzle and can rock in 30s and 40s without any issue. It also does not get hot even after mag dumping a 75 round drum. Down side is having to cut the handguard retainer off. I would recommend a dremel, I used a death wheel which made quick work of it but you will scuff your barrel if you rush it. I wont take a star for this part since I knew i was going to have to it to get the Zhukov to fit.

Fit like a champ. No issues at all. Made it much more comfortable to shoot with my long arms.

I returned this handguard before opening it. It requires that you cut parts off of your AK and then bolt it to the barrel, potentially altering accuracy.

Absolutely love the fit an finish on this hand guard. Gives the AK a cleaner look, an gives it some function. Love the extra length. Super easy install once you get past the retainer ring. That's the only hard part. And it's only down side is the permanent modification. If you really wanted to go back you would have to remove gas block and front sight to install a new handguard retainer to go back to the original.

Put this on my Sagia 47. So much better than stock. Love the looks, easy to install. Way more functional. Highly recommend. Going to be looking for one for the Sagia 12 now.

How to do some mods to the foregrip so I don't have to cut off my locking bracket for the foregrip or my sling tab. After these mods before grip is nice and steady doesn't move works great.

I had to do a lot of fitting (cutting the plastic and metal) to make this work on my N-PAP M70. I hope the stock that Magpul is making for the AK is as bad. I can't even use the gas tube cover that was supplied. It would be nice if Magpul stated this before hand. That all being said once I got it "right" it's a huge improvement over the original.

could be better. The zhukov handguard is good. There is no denying it but it could be better it is heavier than it needs to be the metal heat shield could be skeleton iced to a point although it would cut down in its ability to absorb heat it would be lighter. The installation takes a little while and it can be tough to get it lined up perfectly but once it locks down it's on the for good. It does allow you to get your support arm out farther which is nice and it has mlok capabilities. Overall it's a good handguard but I would like to see a gen 2 that is a bit slider and a bit lighter.

Ordered my Zhukov handgaurd at 22:00 and it was shipped out early the next day. Will definitely be buying from Primary Arms agian.

This was a blessing. I was one of the many that had jumped on the TWS handguard. The tws handguard didn't fill my requirements, not to mention it gets hot and I mean really hot during sustained firing. Magpul answered all my requirements and then some with the Zhukov handguard, and it's damn sexy too.
