Midwest Industries Upper Receiver Rod

If you are building an AR or even just working on an upper, this is the best tool to have. It's better than the clamshell holders IMO. If you are looking at reaction rods, this is the one to get! I would 100% buy this again, but I probably won't ever need another one because this thing is really sturdy.

This tool is great for working on the AR and especially doing suppressor mount muzzle devices whether that's taking them off or putting them on. Highly recommend this tool for doing Muzzle devices and barrel nuts.

Viewed on and recommended by SOTAR. I needed to assemble just one 300BO upper using the Aero Precision M4E1 Enhanced. Torque spec is 55 Ft-lbs. I would not have wanted to put that much force on a plastic upper clamp.

Heard about this tool from a SOTAR page and man is it a game changer. I've been using a cheap upper receiver vice block for years which does not properly fit VLTOR MUR or LMT MRP receivers. This rod fits snug in both the receiver and barrel extension, does not require you to remove optics, requires minimal storage space, and is durable. Scrap your vice blocks and grab this!

The MI Upper Receiver Rod is an excellent and solid tool to have. I love that the tool has the top spine to keep the receiver in perfect alignment with the barrel. You can also remove the top spine by unscrewing the three hex screws that holds it in place if you prefer. I'm glad that I choose this over the Giessele.

I have both the AR-15 and AR-10 versions. These are the only way to go for tough to get off barrel nuts and all upper receiver work can be done without damaging your upper. Must have for builders!

I bought this when I decided to swap out my carbine handguard for a 11" Midwest Ind G4 Freefloat handguard and I wanted something a little more stable then the mag vise or upper receiver pin vise that can damage the upper or barrel pin when doing stuff like muzzle device or changing out a barrel nut. This is a heavy duty piece of barrel steel that is well machined and fits perfectly. Main reason I bought the MI instead of Geissele is the fact the MI has that top sail that provides additional support to the upper while cranking down on it. This is the best reaction/upper receiver rod available currently and is the only one I suggest people buy when asked.

This is a fantastic tool from a fantastic company, Midwest Industries makes very high quality products and they're made in the USA! This particular product is beefy, well built and takes all the stress off your upper receiver when installing barrels, muzzle devices or really any type of repair where you need the the upper securely held in place. The fit and finish is really well done and it fits my Aero Precision uppers perfectly.
