This Primary Arms rifle scope is part of the SLx optics line. SLx optics built their reputation for innovation, reliability, and value. All SLx optics undergo rigorous field-testing during development to best serve you in any environment.

The Primary Arms 3-18x50mm first focal plane illuminated rifle scope punches far outside of its weight class. At 3x magnification, fast snap shots at close range are a breeze with the daylight bright illuminated reticle, but the scope easily allows shooters to reach the 1,000 yard line when cranked up to the full 18x available at the top end. To make the best of the reticle at every magnification, it has been etched into the first focal plane. This allows it to be 'true' at every magnification, allowing the ranging, hold overs, and wind holds to be used as long as you can see them.

Features:
  • First Focal Plane reticle is true at every magnification
  • Full reticle illumination is daylight bright
  • ACSS Athena BPR MIL Reticle provides precise range estimation and a comprehensive but unobtrusive holdover field for extreme long distance shooting
  • Chevron tip central aiming point provides infinitely small aiming point
  • The replaceable power ring fin can be positioned to user preference
  • Locking, Zero resettable turrets
  • 30mm main tube
  • Weight: 25.4 oz. with battery, without lens caps
  • Water proof, fog resistant, shock resistant
  • Lifetime warranty

The 3-18x50mm is equipped with the ACSS Athena BPR MIL reticle, intended for exceptionally accurate ranging and target engagement at ranges beyond 1,000 yards. The optimized crosshair section features .2 MIL subtensions for precise range estimation at extended ranges. The center aiming point is a chevron tip, allowing for infinitely precise point of aim that doesn’t block your target. The unobtrusive, yet comprehensive holdover grid features thick dots in 1 MIL increments with thinner dots ever .5 MIL between them, offering plenty of aiming references out to extreme long range.

The 3-18x50mm scope body is our most advanced to date, offering new innovative features, as well as old favorites. A removable and replaceable fin on the power ring allows for rapid adjustment of the magnification range just like a magnification lever, with placement of the fin entirely at the discretion of the operator. The improved turrets have tactile and audible 0.1 MIL click adjustments, as well as offering easy reset once you've got your zero and secure locking to prevent accidental adjustments. The illumination turret offers six settings with an 'OFF' setting between each for fast switching to your preferred setting. A smooth parallax adjustment and fast focus eye piece work together to provide a perfectly crisp image of the target and reticle.

Featuring clear glass, forgiving eye relief/exit pupil characteristics, and efficient industrial design, the 3-18x50 FFP Scope with ACSS Athena BPR MIL reticle is backed up by the Primary Arms Lifetime Warranty.

Great scope, clear glass. Put this on my Ruger Precision 338 Lapua.

Great value

I love the 3-18x ATHENA MIL on my .308 Rem 700. It really is a tough and precise optic for the money.

Parallax Binding with Correct Ring Torque

by

I ordered this scope for a 6.5 18" AR10 build (Aero M5, Criterion 18", Larue MBT, Ballistic advantage bolt). The click adjustments are tactile and intuitive. The reticle is fantastic and I love the chevron aiming point.

Unfortunately, when placed in a Larue LT 204 mount with the front ring torqued to the correct 20 in/lbs, the parallax adjustment knob binds and will not move through the full adjustment. I sent it back to Primary Arms and they tested it in a Midwest Industries mount torqued to 20 in/lbs said I'm good and sent it on back. ???? I have two other Larue LT204 mounts. This mount is bomb proof.

I got the parallax to move freely if I didn't torque the front ring to the recommended specs of 20 in/lb. At 15 in/lb the parallax would no longer bind.

The scope is still on the rifle. My rifle has shot several sub MOA groups. .40 MOA being the smallest. Hopefully different ring torques will not affect the zero over time. Only time will tell.

Great performance especially for the price

The optic description does a pretty good job presenting information for anyone that might be interested. Some info that is missing that I think others will find useful. Full 15 mil grid visible up to 10x magnification. 9 mils of grid is visible at 18x magnification. For anyone interested in extreme long range consider that the full magnification will subtract 6 mils of usable grid. Something I had to consider as I plan to try out some 1 mile shots for an upcoming trip and the BDC calculations are near the limit for my scope and mount configuration.
