This Primary Arms red dot sight is part of the SLx optics line. SLx optics have built a reputation for innovation, reliability, and value. All SLx optics undergo rigorous field-testing during development to best serve you in any environment.

The Microdot, Removable Base, Advanced sight (MD-RB-AD) takes everything learned from the best selling MD-ADS microdot and refines it a step further. The Primary Arms Advanced Micro Red Dot Sight features an estimated 50,000 hours of battery life from the included CR2032 battery, powering an ultra-sharp 2 MOA dot. Fully multicoated lenses and an ultra-low profile emitter ensure a clean sight picture with minimal lens tint. Eleven brightness settings are controlled by the rotary knob on the right side. The first two settings are compatible with night vision units and cannot be seen by the naked eye. The brightest settings are daylight bright. The illumination knob physically stops at “0” with the red dot turned off.

Features:
  • 2 MOA red dot reticle with 11 brightness settings
  • Nightvision compatible
  • 50,000 hour battery life
  • Aluminum 6061 construction
  • Hardcoat anodized matte black finish
  • Waterproof
  • Includes removable picatinny mount
  • Includes CR2032 battery
  • Lifetime warranty

Covered by the Primary Arms lifetime warranty, this red dot sight is designed for use on heavy recoiling firearms such as shotguns and is constructed of 6061 aluminum with a Type II anodized matte black finish. Waterproofing is improved over previous models—for example, the turret caps are now aluminum instead of plastic and tighten down around the O-rings until metal-to-metal contact with the scope body. When removed, the turret caps can be used to adjust windage and elevation. It comes with a removable 1913 MIL STD Picatinny base. With the base removed, the scope body is compatible with industry standard micro mount systems, enabling The Advanced Red Dot to be mounted correctly on a wide variety of firearms.

Perfect thus far!

Just received it Friday, mounted it up in a PA lower 1/3 mount, set it to 5, and headed to the range. No complaints at all, dot is crisp, lenses are clear, ever so slight hint of The emitter in bottom right of tube. If it continues like it performed yesterday I’ll be super happy. I’ll change the battery on my birthday every year just for the sake of my OCD. SUPER fast shipping as always!

GREAT AFFORDABLE RED DOT

This was my first PA red dot i purchased a couple of yrs ago after the NV issue. 50,000 hrs battery life, water proof, light weight, NV compatible and lifetime time warranty. All the things you need in a compact dot. Seems well made even though its made across the pond. Its been on for 2 yrs, still holding zero. Havnt put it through a torture test though, but theres video on folks who have. Budget or not, this a great lil red dot. Makes it affordable so you don't have to put 1000 dollar optics on everyone of your rifles. I now own several different pa optics, all have been great.

Time will tell...

I own and run both Aimpoint Micro T1 and T2. So far I am very impressed with the Primary Arms SLX Advanced Rotary Knob red dot. The turret knobs are a bit bulky and so is the adjustment knob, but not a deal breaker, just an observation. I don't know why anyone would complain about where the adjustment knob is located because both of my Aimpoints have the knob in the exact same place. A lot of snobs will find fault with any product that does not have a name brand or following. They will talk about blue tint, slight magnification, blah blah blah. If it holds zero, does not crap out, and allows you to get shots on target; that's good enough for me. Like I said, time will tell...

Fantastic.

I've looked through MANY optics both cheap and expensive, and this is the best out of all the less expensive optics I've tried, the next in line being the Sig Romeo 5. There isn't a reflective "line" like the Holosun has (still a good sight, just the reflected line annoyed me but wasn't mind blowlingly distracting), the dot is pretty dang crisp and pointy even though it's not Aimpoint quality, it's damn good and FINE for the price point. Battery life is amazing at 50,000 hours and the location of the battery being on the exterior to change it quickly and without losing zero is awesome. The brightness knob adjustments feel JUST RIGHT with excellent click and stop when turning to different brightness levels. The brightness levels all look crisp from low to very bright, and the night vision settings are great to have just in case. Sighting in was also easy with the turrets that you feel a good click on as you get your moa changes. Also takes Aimpoint mounts which is tremendous. A+

Worth buying

Big and ugly, but does the job quite well.

Brightness knob is huge, as are the the adjustment turrets, but they have positive clicks and work as they should.

Just as clear as my Aimpoint PRO. As durable? Probably not. And it does seem to exhibit the slightest bit of magnification if you're looking for it.

For the price, battery life, and warranty (which I don't believe I'll ever have to use), it's hard to beat. So much so, I bought another after about 6 months of owning the 1st one. I trust it enough to keep one on my HD PCC.

Great Red Dot

I have this mounted on a 458 Socom and have only shot 75 rounds or so, no issues. There is a slight blue tint but that does not bother me.

perfect for an ak w a gas block mount can coewitness easily

I trust my life to this red dot... which is saying a lot.

A lot of people say this is a budget red dot, and I guess it probably is, but I 100% trust my life to this red dot. It is on two of my home defense guns. I have in my arsenal an EOTECH EXPS3-2 a Trijicon MRO, several Holosuns and a Sig Romeo 7s, and a Sig Tango6T. Those are not budget red dots/optics and I don't think anyone would consider them that. My point is I trust my Primary Arms Rotary Knob just as much maybe more than those others. Why? Because it's built like a tank and all of PA's (4) have been used hard, they aren't on safe queens and they've never failed or missed a beat. My rifles typically get 4k-6k rounds through them on a normal year and like I said my PA's have never once failed. They are rock solid and premium red dots in my opinion, without a doubt. Most people have a fair idea of how well something is built by holding it in their hand and using/adjusting its settings and using their critical thinking, and by doing so with one of these you'll understand what I mean.
