Awesome Conversion Kit for Any AR-15 Rifle
by Love_AR_Rifles -
This is well worth the purchase in my opinion. I was able to shoot 250 rounds of .22LR through this BCG the first time out with only one FTF. I shout Remington Hollow point Rounds through it. I used a 18" 223 Wylde Barrel, 8.5" 5.56 Barrel and a 16" 5.56 barrel. This thing allowed the .22LR to shoot on paper so well. I have found a new way to shoot my rifles, but at a much cheaper rate now. Thank you Primary Arms for the sale price and thank you CMMG for coming out with this.
a must have for any ar15 owner.

great kit at first i wa worried because of constant jams..feed no fire or stove pipes or no fire. but once i hot around 150-200 rounds it was going through mags no issue. ive put around 2000 so far since i purchased it and very happy with it easy to clean and use. built a whole new upper just for this kit. others that shoot it are shocked an ar can be converted to shoot 22 so easy.
Works great. So happy I bought it!

I have shot about 200 or so rounds with a few different ammunition and this conversion kit has worked flawlessly. I had few failure to extract from the bulk boxes but that's to be expected. This definitely worth the investment as it makes it very cheap to shot and it pretty fun.
My only negative is that the BCG had a very hard time fitting all the way in my upper receiver. I have Palmetto State upper. Now the only way I was able to get to sit all the way in was to lightly sand the bronze circular thing (or whatever that piece of metal is ) and literally pound the BCG in the receiver so it can fit flush. I had to this about 30 times rotating that piece so it can come easy. As of right now I don't have pound to much. I just use the spring power in charge handle to put in place. Taking out of upper receiver is a bit difficult. Over time it will eventually be all evened out for my AR15. At this time I'm enjoying the crap out of it
great deal and works great....

Barrel Collar Doesn't Fit
by Aaron -
This kit DOES NOT work with PSA uppers. The brass collar that goes around the "Barrel" of the conversion kit was .0365 inches larger than the body of my regular AR-15 bolt, which meant it couldn't sit inside the locking lugs like it's supposed to. Currently contacting CMMG to see if I can get a replacement collar that actually fits, or if I can't, a refund from Primary Arms.
NOTICE FOR AR-15 PALMETTO STATE ARMORY UPPER OWNERS
by Aaron -
I complained in another review about the brass collar on the conversion kit not fitting into the chamber of my AR-15 due to the tight tolerances of PSA's uppers, and contacted CMMG about this attempting to remedy the situation. CMMG couldn't replace the brass collar with a differently sized one, but I was put in contact with their technical support, who offered me a solution: Sand down the collar a few thousandths. So I put the collar on a bolt and locked it in with a nut, chucked the bolt up in a drill, wrapped some sandpaper around it, and went to work. Took about 30 minutes of slowly sanding away the brass and checking the diameter with some calipers before I was able to chamber the thing completely. Afterwards, it runs like a dream, without even a single failure through any of the 400 rounds I put through it the day after modifying it.
Works well with 20 rounds in magazines

Installed on Springfield Saint AR15 Pistol. Fired 300 rounds after thoroughly oiling and cleaning the kit; cycled beautifully. Only 2 failure to feed when magazine was loaded with (maxed) 25 rounds. Loaded the magazine with 20 rounds and mag dumped on target; fired with no failure. Maybe when mags are fully broken in, will try maxing out the mag capacity. Awesome kit!
May not fit in your 556 chambered barrel.

I have a Det-Ton rifle and a PSA pistol. Both chambered in 556. The two BCG's can be interchanged and work fine in either. The CMMG Conversion Kit fits and fires okay in the Del-Ton but will not fit in the PSA? The brass bushing diameter is too large to seat in the PSA chamber.
Works as Advertised So Far

Used for the first time yesterday. No problems shooting 200 rounds +/- with my PSA M4 carbine w/ CCI Green Tag ammo. I didn't have any of the fit issues that some other reviewers have mentioned with the bolt.
Also, not really a "review" note, but I noticed that the sighting is very close with the 22LR (vs .223) at up to about 70 yards. I had assumed some manual adjustment would be required, but not really...which is handy.

Works great with my PSA M4 upper. None of the PSA bolt fit issues some others have noted. No problems with 200 +/- rounds of CCI Green Tag ammo.
