The SIG Sauer MCX Spear 7.62x51 SBR brings the NGSW-derived platform to .308 Win shooters in the compact 13-inch SBR format, with interchangeable barrel capability, 2-position adjustable gas valve, fully ambidextrous controls, and the folding Magpul SL-M stock that makes the Spear one of the most packable full-power rifle platforms available.

The SIG Sauer MCX Spear 7.62x51 SBR is a short-stroke piston-operated semi-automatic short barreled rifle chambered in 7.62x51mm (.308 Win), based on the U.S. Army's XM7 platform, featuring a 13-inch cold hammer-forged threaded barrel, 2-stage curved match trigger, folding/telescoping Magpul SL-M stock, and fully ambidextrous controls in a Coyote anodized finish.

Four features define the MCX Spear 7.62x51's operational capability. The interchangeable barrel system allows caliber conversion without returning the firearm to a gunsmith, future-proofing the platform for additional chamberings as they become available and enabling a single lower to serve across multiple configurations. The 2-position adjustable gas valve provides a dedicated suppressed setting that manages the additional backpressure of a suppressor without buffer or spring changes, enabling reliable cycling both suppressed and unsuppressed from a 13-inch .308 Win barrel — a configuration where gas management is more critical than on longer barrels. Integrated stainless steel QD mounts in the lower receiver provide secure, rattle-free sling attachment without external QD hardware or rail-section sling adapters. Fully ambidextrous controls including non-reciprocating side and rear charging handles, ambidextrous bolt catch and bolt release accommodate either hand in any shooting position.
