The Spike’s Tactical 9mm Buffer Spacer was designed for three basic purposes. It limits the travel of your 9mm bolt, helps eliminate the chance of breaking bolt catches, and makes for a much smoother shooting gun. It's made from solid CNC machined 6061 billet aluminum with a black anodized finish for extra strength and durability.
To Install the ST-9BS spacer, you must first remove your buffer and spring from the buffer tube. Next install the smaller side of the ST-9BS on one end of your spring as you would with a buffer, then drop the complete unit into the buffer tube. The ST-9BS goes in first followed by the carbine buffer spring and then the buffer itself.

Helps With Bolts That Won't Lock Open On The Last Round

This spacer worked perfectly on my AR9 Pistol build. I bought an upper and kit from CBC Industries to go with my Spikes lower (amazing btw!). The upper clearly advised it would not lock the bolt back after the last round. I read some reviews about putting quarters in the buffer tube, but found this spacer instead. It worked like a charm so far and locks back on an empty mag after the last round.
