A step backwards in design

The Protac 2.0 functions fine, as advertised. However, compared to the Protac HL-X, it is needlessly bigger and heavier than it’s predecessor. Had this been the same size and took the same batter as the HL- , this would be a win.
Good quality, make sure you get the one with the tape switch.

I didn't realize that they sold a model without the tape switch. I bought it in a hurry on a killer sale and didn't read it. It's surprisingly difficult to find a tape switch that works for it, but it can be done. But by the time you do it is much more than the one that comes with it.

Streamlight makes a great dependable flashlight. I've used stremlight for over 20 years and never had one let me down. That being said, there are some pro and cons to this light. They could play a factor in ones preferences. This light is extremly bright. The pattern is more of a flood than spot. You can only use the battery it comes with. However it is rechargable and extras can be purchased. This light is a little big for a weapon light. It doesnt bother me on the gun I put it on. It works very well. However if compact and slimline are important to your setup then this light is not the one. It comes with the tailcap to run a momentary switch or just use the button on the cap. I like options that are included. Does include mount to install closer to the gun. It's a great dependable light. Highly recomend if it fits your needs
