Well worth the money

Already own one of these lights and I'm ordering a second for another S&W Shield. This was my first pistol mounted light and while it is not blazing bright compared to the lumens from a TLR-1 or X-300 there is no way you could have gotten those lights on the S&W shiled or simialr sized pistol without a rail. This light fills the gap and I really like not having to hold a flashlight while using the pistol in low-light conditions. It does use an odd battery but you can get them for reasonable prices from Amazon and also find them at big- box stores and drug stores. There is also a surprisng amount of holsters available for this light/pistol combination.
Good light for Shield/Shield Plus

Pros: Excellent tight fit on my Shield Plus. Very compact and light weight. Small overall profile doesn't extend past sides of frame or end of barrel. Good illumination, brighter than I expected for the claimed 100 lumens.
Cons: Takes up a bit of the trigger guard area. Uses goofy 1/3 N batteries.
