The Sylvan Arms Gen 4 AR-15 Folding Stock Adapter is compatible with 5.56 and 9mm pattern rifles and allows you to fold your stock for a more compact package for storage. Installation is even easier with the Gen 4, it simply screws into the receiver in place of your buffer tube. From there screw your buffer tube into the folding adapter. A great improvement for the Gen 4 folding adapter is that you now have the ability to install your take-down pin detent and detent spring via a screw port in the adapter itself. The Sylvan Arms Gen 4 AR-15 Folding Stock Adapter offers some other great improvements such as added QD sling attachment points, and a stronger and tighter lock up. The Gen 4 folding stock adapter is still CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with a heavy duty hinge that provide amazing durability. The Sylvan Arms Gen 4 AR-15 Folding Stock Adapter is finished in a hardcoat anodized black for a lifetime of corrosion resistance.

THE BEST ADAPTER FOR THE MONEY, IT WAS SO EASY TO INTALL THAT I THOUGHT I HAD DONE IT WRONG BECAUSE WENT TOGETHER SO QUICK, WILL BUY ANOTHER WHEN GET THE MONEY

Must have for SBR.

Great piece of work. Easy install. However after many attempts to contact SYLVAN I cannot get answer on why the QD mounts do not work with Magpul M4 sling. Contacted Magpul with timely response. They suggested it might be an adapter design issue. Other than that I'm very pleased.

Stick with the proven brand

I wanted to be very excited about this product. Initial impression was good...

However, I cannot recommend this product after it failed following the first 10 rounds of ammunition. The tang/tab that holds the folder in the locked position cleanly snapped off.

Additionally, this product does not automatically lock into place when you fold the stock into the extended position, a button press is required.

Do yourself a favor and buy the (other) trusted brand, there's a reason it's the industry standard.

I installed it on my ar15 556 and it didn’t work I spend over 3 hours to make it happen, it robs inside the folding body mount and it makes it hard to slide it was getting stuck inside, just wasted money now the folding is sitting in my junk drawer

I love the gen 4. A bit tricky to install. If I have problems I will get a gen 5.
