The Taurus Model 66 adds the seventh round of .357 Magnum firepower to a medium-framed revolver package. It is compact enough with a four-inch barrel for every day carry while still getting the most out of its powerful 357 Magnum chambering. Like all 357 Magnum revolvers, the Taurus 66 can also fire .38 Special rounds for a more pleasant shooting experience.

The front sight of the Taurus Model 66 is a traditional serrated ramp, and the rear sight is fully adjustable for windage and elevation. These features are especially valuable because they allow the shooter to tailor the point of aim and point of impact to their specific favorite .357 Magnum or .38 Special load. The Model 66 is a traditional double-action revolver and can also be cocked into a single-action mode for a lighter trigger pull. It also features Taurus' key-lock security system, which renders the gun inoperable for storage.
