Lefty/Ambi rifle must have

by

Such an easy and simple solution. I was skeptical at first but have since purchased and installed them on my hd and competition AR’s. Had zero issues with them and recommended them to every lefty or person wanting ambi mag controls. Easy and super fast to install.

BEST AMBI MAG RELEASE!

by -

I have a Anderson lower and I am one of the unfortunate few that is fully left handed, this ambi mag release is perfect for me cause I run a BAD lever also and where the mag release is positioned is perfect. I don't have to sacrifice my BAD lever to have a ambi mag release. It is pricy for just a single piece of metal but that's the left handed tax.

2nd Gen Pmags

by -

I blame the mags rather than the mag release. The only mags I have had issues with are the 2nd gen pmags because the shelf on those are very shallow. I tried metal mags, 3rd pmags, or the MFT extreme duty mags you should not have any issues with these. Really great mag release.

Paying for the Name

by -

I'll be frank. Yes it's of good quality, and it works. But amongst your options for Ambi mag releases/catches, this is easily the highest in price at double the cost of other products and it doesn't even come with the spring or release button.
This is a solid case of paying for the Name. It's not really a better product than Troy's competition, Troy is just really proud of their stuff.

Excellent quality and works perfectly!

Excellent quality.made extremely well. Works perfectly along with the equally excellent Troy ambi bolt assist.

It installs quickly and easily without tools and works just like stock from the right side and is in perfect position and works easily from the left side. Looks good too.styling matches the ambi bolt assist device but the finish is slightly different.

My only complaints are it will marr the finish slightly directly under the button just like all of these add on ambi mag releases do except the Norgon. But it wont work with the ambi bolt assist.
So i can forgive that one minor issue.i may glue a thin sheet of tough plastic or mylar behind it to prevent damage though.
Regardless its a great product and i highly recommend it especially if you also have the Troy ambi bolt assist.

Good product

Great product works very well. The ergonomics of where the lever and my finger match are nice. My only complaint is that it's kinda of pricey and if it wouldn't have been on sale I probably wouldn't have bought it. If you can deal with have the mag release on the right side I would just do that.

Troy Ambi Mag Release

I run 3 of them on 3 different guns. They are the BEST! I just ordered another for a new build.

MEASURE FIRST!!!!!

As many other people have said, this is a great part by a reputable company, but it just magically seems to not work in some lowers. Mine was no exception; it did not work in 2 of my MAG tactical (now manufactured by Fostech) lowers at all, but worked FLAWLESSLY in my Anderson lower. I spent about an hour examining the parts and lowers, and at this point the only difference of any kind seems to be the depth of the mag retention/release bar slot. The Troy release worked fine in the Anderson which had a depth of .160 (nominal), but the deeper slot (.187 nominal) of the MAG lower seems to have prevented the bar from catching on the magazine. When I replaced the Troy part with a standard bar, I achieved the same flawless function I am used to. So just check first! its a REALLY awesome part for ambi/southpaw shooters like me, and I"m glad I have it for use in my Anderson lower.

smooth operator

installed easily and functions with little effort to release the mag. great product and well made.

Excellent!

Although I'm right handed I shoot lefty due to comfort and my lh eye being my better one. This makes life easier on my "featureless" build. Got tired of the BB hindrance.
