Decent if you never want to change anything. Otherwise prone to failure

I picked up two of these UTG Pro "Made in USA" tubes and they are both crap. At the time of the build they installed easily and worked well. When I decided I wanted a QD receiver end plate they both spun and destroyed the threads when I went to remove. I reached out to Leapers after the first failure and they took months and months to respond. But did send a free replacement. The second failure happened last night.

Maybe 1 star is too harsh, they served me well until I tried to change something. So beware they are single install only tubes.

DON'T BUY IT. Spend the extra $15$20 on a decent kit.

Absolute garbage, DON'T BUY IT. I should have known because it is so cheap.
If I could do 0 stars I would. I've had this kit on my AR for about 6 months now. I got a magpul ASAP sling adapter end plate this week that I wanted to install. I simply wanted to replace the end plate. I pulled out my castle nut wrench, safely put my lower in a vice, and began to take it off. MY FIRST TURN, the locking mechanism on the end plate slipped out and the little notch on the end plate just disintegrated.
Absolute garbage. Not to mention the castle nut metal just instantly bent as well from the force. I didn't use loctite of any sort, so this should not have behaved this way. I'm not even 500 rounds into my AR with this kit.

6061

when i purchased this, there was no mention of 6061. only mil spec. which should indicate 7075 unless otherwise mentioned. so i feel ripped off by both primary arms as well as leapers.

From PA: Mil-SPEC refers to the size of the receiver extension and not the material. Its going to hold up great in either material, but if its not what you want we would be happy to take it back.

Best Bang for the Buck

This is my go to buffer tube assembly for most of my builds. For $30 you really can't beat the value you get. The buffer tubes haave always been in spec and to throw in buffer, castle nut, end plate and spring in with it, is a good bonus. The spring is loud as people have mentioned but the spring had good tension and for the price i don't know how anyone can complain, just grab a white springco spring and call it a day; usually just keep the spring and buffer as spares in these kits anyhow.

"DON'T BUY"

"DON'T BUY" soon as you tighten the castle nut buffer tube turns with it...

Not worth it.

Install on an build and it keeps turning after installing the castle nut. Found out that the backing plate cut into the tube. Don't know if it was the backing plate or tube that is the cause but I have install many CAR stock and this is the first UTG I've bought and had issue installing.

not a 7075 tube

by -

I just noticed this tube is 6061-T6, not 7075 aluminum - so how can UTG call it a "Mill-Spec" Tube? - other than diameter measurement, which would make it much weaker. (and in my case much noisier even with the coated spring)

"Boing - Boing"

Nice kit, fast PA shipping as always -but the wife just finished her 1st lower build. Of 3 AR's this buffer set is by far the noisiest -really bad "Boing, Boing" on racking the slide-(You can hear it 3-4ft away) - even worse if your cheek is on the rest! Switching the spring and buffer helped, but part of it is in the tube harmonics. -
up to her - try a cheap mod, or return -??

Great product for a budget build

Good finish fits good great product for a budget build and the usual extremely fast shipping from primary arms i would definitely recommend this product to a friend

Spring is noisy as all h**l..and when I tightened the nut the tub spun right out of the key hole slot..the key hole fit was very loose...unfortunately I will probably have to but a new buffer kit
