Tough as nails!

I’ve had one of these on a rifle for almost 3 years now and it has served me well, haven’t had to change batteries once, been dropped many times. I recently bought one for another build. I was at the range for 8 hours straight with 3 hours of sleep this passed weekend and while packing up I forgot I placed it on the toolbox in my truck bed. Don’t ask me why, I was exhausted lol. Well my crossfire II fell off my bed and I didn’t know until I got home. Next day I pulled up to the range and saw my red dot in the gravel road scratched to hell and it had clearly been run over. I went and picked it up, dot was still on, glass was fine, and the knob still worked perfectly, turrets were fine as well. The only thing broken was the QD mount I purchased with it. I wish I could post the picture I have of this thing in this review. Needless to say I will buy this over the aimpoint t2 everyday twice on Sunday. The crossfire II will take a beating and keep on going for less than $200

Can't go wrong with vortex

I've bought other budget red dots only to have them fail within a year or the optic is annoying by horrible clarity coloring or huge emitter. This is a solid option. Only other option for a budget red dot would be a Primary Arms brand.

Great optic for the money.

Purchased this optic to go on a defensive shotgun build. So far so good. Has held zero despite shooting several cases of 12 ga. Slugs and buckshot. Operates identical to my Aimpoint T-2 on my issued rifle for work. The vortex dot is actually brighter at lower settings than the aimpoint. The vortex has 11 brightness settings and the aimpoint 12. I run the vortex on an 8 setting and the aimpoint at 10. I determine how bright I run my optic by pointing it at a white surface, then turning on my weapon light. Then I turn up the optic till I can see the dot. That way my dot is never washed out. I will be buying another crossfire soon to go on an AR build.

Save your money, buy a Primary Arms instead

Not worth the extra money. Still made of cheap Chinesium. Two of my screws stripped the base, luckily I found some other longer screws and made it work. If you’re going to go with budget red dots anyways, go with the primary arms stuff. They’re also cheap, but I have several and never had a problem with those like this Vortex piece of junk. There’s a reason why they have a great warranty, just like Keltec, just like Hi Point. Junk needs to have a good warranty.

Super clear

I was told with my astigmatism red dots would always be a little fuzzy. The vortex crossfire is very clear. Much better then my Sig Romeo. Love it!

Very accurate

I just shot at 50 and 100 yards with my Noveske AR pistol 5.56.
I was very impressed how accurate this red dot is.

What I expected for price

Good dot for the price. Mount height is great for me. Sight picture is clear up to setting eight. After that it starts to kind of wash out. For a fun gun it’s a great choice.

Great Optic For the Price

Great Optic for a home defense set up. Good price point.

Budget Optic is just that!

I may be spoiled, or maybe I’m just an optics snob. The CF2 leaves lots to be desired in my opinion. The emitter is visible and with any bright surroundings there is an excellent over abundance of bloom. I may not be the best evaluator as I am used to Aimpoints and Trijicon MRO’s. This optic was purchased for a Ruger 10/22 and I thought I could get by with a lower costing sight, but at least for me I was wrong. You may draw a different conclusion, however for me this optic is a no-go. If you are going to use this on an AR used for duty or even home defense, save your money for an Aimpoint Pro...🇺🇸👮🏻‍♂️👍

It was good to speak to you on this issue and that we were able to take care of you. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.

Excellent Budget Option

This is an excellent budget Red Dot with a really amazing warranty. I prefer primary arms but it's hard to find stuff in stock lately. I don't really have any regrets buying this the battery life is comparable the warranty is also comparable. The biggest upside is that the factory amounts are actually pretty decent and the mounting hardware itself is pretty well made. The only downside I can think of is that the emitter is more visible than newer red dots. For example the primary arms v2 advanced micro Red Dot does not have an emitter obscuring your view. Also it doesn't use steel helicoils like the Primary Arms red dots do.

Despite this I would buy with confidence.

Also if we are talking aesthetics it looks very nice/slick
