The WMD NiB-X AR-15 Charging Handle in bare nickel-boron finish skips the ceramic topcoat entirely — the NiB-X coating is the finish, leaving the characteristic silver-gray appearance of electroless nickel-boron exposed. For builds running NiB-X bolt carrier groups or other nickel-boron components, the bare NiB-X charging handle creates a visually cohesive system where the finish matches across the upper's moving parts rather than contrasting against a differently colored handle.
The functional case for NiB-X is the same regardless of topcoat: a self-lubricating surface that bonds directly to the 7075 aluminum substrate, leaving nothing for carbon fouling or grit to grip. Where anodized aluminum accumulates carbon at contact points and requires periodic scrubbing, NiB-X wipes clean quickly and maintains consistent surface properties across the service life of the component. Standard short latch fits any mil-spec AR-15 or M16 upper receiver as a direct drop-in. Made in the USA.

Slick. Maybe a little too slick?

Works exactly as intended. Great action when charging back. Although one problem I've been running into lately is that the coating is so smooth that sometimes my fingers slip off, which I've never experienced on a traditional mil-spec CH, and end up punching myself in the throat.

Mine has been functioning perfectly for years and it was very affordable. That debi reviewer is purposely and falsely giving low ratings to several great products, this is the second one I've seen. I'm willing to bet she works for a competitor.
