17 Design Billet AR-15 Stripped Lower Receiver - Black

Nicely machined. Nice finish. Low price point for a billet lower. Married nicely to an Aero Upper; no need to adjust the lower tension screw. A threaded bolt catch with a set screw eliminates the need to tap in a roll pin. Suggest using an enhanced magazine release button due to the extra wall thickness of this billet lower. Other websites indicated some QC issues that apparently have been worked out.

These are very nice lowers, I’ve put dozens of lowers together from all different manufacturers. Got to say, the threaded bolt release pin is a great idea. The rest went together without any issues. Finish is nice too. Scores a 10 out of 10 for me.

This lower is Excellent. Precisely made, high quality, everything in spec. AND the only lower I found with a nicely flared mag well, integral trigger guard (oversize for gloved hands) and and a captive bolt catch pin - no tiny roll pins to pound in.

<br>Built a DMR with an 18" 1/8 HB upper, quality parts kit and match trigger. The upper fit precisely with zero daylight and no play. Thx for the stimulus check, new administration. Putting it to good use!

Amazing quality.

I bought this because I assumed that all of the reviews, even if exaggerating, it had to be half decent. Turns out they weren't exaggerating. This lower is beautiful with hard edges and matched up to my Aero Upper perfectly. No slop, no play, all business. The raised side only somewhat interferes with my phase 5 extended bolt catch, but after all assembled, its not to bad. Just a little break in wear required. I originally didn't want to write another good review as I want these to stay available. I have a go to for my next 300BO pistol build.

High quality lower excellent fit and finish

Really impressed with the quality of these, billet upper with a threaded bolt catch pin and integrated trigger guard for $130. No tooling marks anywhere, everything looks top notch. Also has the nylon tipped screw for adjusting any play with lower and upper receivers, although I don't think it will be needed.

<br>The 17 Design lower is comparable in my mid to the M4E1 lower by Aero Precision but I'm docking it a star for the following reasons:

<br>1. More expensive but lower overall quality.
<br>2. Very noticeable tool marks all over the receiver.
<br>3. Poor quality hard coat, noticeably thin in several spots.
<br>4. Slightly heavier than the M4E1

<br>Now it's still a good lower receiver, but I was expecting something with far better quality when given the cost. Mind you, if you're just desperate to have a lower receiver then you're not going to care how bad 17 Design's QC is.

Took a flyer on this lower as it was in stock, it was billet and at a great price. This did not disappoint. All millspec assembly parts went in perfectly, it functions great and the fit and finish is excellent. Will buy again for sure. Well done.
