Chambered in 5.56 NATO, this Ballistic Advantage 12.5” barrel is a great option for building a short barrel rifle or even a pistol. This modern series barrel features all the qualities you would want for a short carbine style build. It features a carbine length gas system for optimal reliability with the commonly used 62 grain projectiles which are also optimal with the 1:7 twist rate. The barrel is made from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium and is fully salt bath Nitride finished inside and out for long term durability. The government profile is thin behind the gas block shelf to reduce weight but then gets larger to accommodate .750” gas blocks. Threaded 1/2x28, you can easily attach your favorite .223/5.56 muzzle device whether it is a flash hider or muzzle brake. This Is What I Needed!

I bought mine before PA carried this model/length and I couldn't be happier. The fit and finish is superb! I had to dimple the barrel for the gas block ( I have a jig ) and it took a long time as that steel is HARD. I gave it a brief break-in and got great groups right from the start. I'm currently shooting it with a LANTAC Dragon, Superlative Arms gas piston system and a Fostech Echo binary trigger and the brass really flies but I can find nothing to fault about this Aero Precision (group) barrel. At the current sales price, it is a steal!

This is my first product from BA but wont be my last. I've put together quite a few AR's and really have taken to Aero Precision lately. They use BA with their assembled uppers, but for my last build there were none available. So I pieced it together. With the 12.5" on my pistol and a Bushnell 1-4 FFP I'm having no problem doing sub 2" groups at 100 with XM193. this is better than most of my other guns, all of which will shoot sub MOA with match ammo. I haven't fed this one anything but xm193, but have no doubts it with tighten up with better ammo. Very pleased! Primary arms was great to work with as always. I try to buy here first, going elsewhere only when absolutely necessary.

Purchased this barrel for a "mini recce" build. Packaging was solid, item arrived ahead of schedule and the fit and finish was perfect. Pretty much a press fit into a BCM upper, which was a good start. Only have a few test rounds through it so far, but at 50 meters shots were touching using 55, 62, and 77 gr pills. I think this was definitely the correct barrel for a recce build. I'd definitely buy this again, and probably will.
