Details

The Diamondback Firearms 7.62x39mm AR-15 Barrel is machined in house on state-of-the-art CNC machines and are thoroughly inspected at multiple stages of the build process to ensure quality. This 16” barrel is machined from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium Steel and is 6 groove button rifled to ensure consistent accuracy and has a 1:9.5 twist rate. The carbine length gas system is optimal for reliability with the 7.62x39mm cartridge. It is threaded 5/8x24 and features an 11 degree target crown. The final process is a salt bath Nitride finish for an added layer of protection.

We have dimple

Previous reviews said there was no gas port dimple. I'm happy to say that appears to no longer be the case -- there be dimple down there. I have not installed the barrel yet but upon inspection it looks flawless.

Picture not accurate

I purchased this barrel but haven't installed it or fired rounds through it yet. I am just letting people know that the picture is not accurate. The barrel I received was indeed a Nitride finish 16" 7.62x39 carbine length gas AR15 barrel but the barrel profile up the gas block shoulder is your typical govt profile contour while the picture shows it being heavier/thicker in that section. Hey, I'm not complaining as the barrel itself is pretty lightweight. This barrel will be used for hunting hogs and whitetail deer in Central Texas anyway.

One more thing, I saw some previous reviewers saying that the barrel wasn't dimpled. Mine is indeed dimpled which is another plus because now I don't have to dimple it myself. Giving it 4 stars for now since i haven't shot any rounds through it yet.

I love to build with Diamondback products. This barrel is a perfect mate for a BCA upper. Primary Arms got this barrel to me fast and without incident, it arrived in perfect condition..

DB Ar15 7.62x39 Barrel a Winner!

These Diamondback 7.62x39 Ar barrels are the Real Deal. I have the 16" and the pistol length barrel. Both are very accurate. Want to buy another one so I can change out the barrel I have on another upper I have in 7.62x39.

great budget build barrel

Wanted to do a AR-47 build on a budget and this barrel fit the bill. Already have the 10 inch version of this barrel and that was a awesome barrel. And so is this one!!!

Great barrel, well worth the purchase.

I used this barrel on an Anderson upper and the barrel shoots great. I have managed at least 200 rounds of so far. I lubed up my upper and have only used steel cased rounds.

Great quality to cost

This is an excellent barrel for the price. I am getting sub moa at 100 yrds with several different brands of ammo and some Russian rounds. I would not use Geco for accuracy its best is 2.5 in. recommend the barrel though its a little heavy but not unmanageable
