Mine is 5.53oz, perfect for LR308 / A5 tube!

Great price for H3 buffer or just for the 3x tungsten weights.
Pair this with the Griffin Armament AR-10 +15% spring for an original spring rate & buffer setup very close to Mr. Stoner's AR-10.

Weights got stuck inside buffer

by -

I bought this buffer a while back and forgot to leave a review but for the first couple months I had no issues. Then I started getting bolt bounce in my bcg so I started looking at everything and noticed in that buffer that the weights were not sliding freely inside it. I moved the buffer to another gun with a different bcg and it would do the same thing. I ended up just buying another buffer to replace it with.

Good for playing with your gas system

Good spares for tuning and troubleshooting your gas system.

Great deal.

One thing to keep in mind when buying this is it has 3 tungsten weights. If you have 2 carbine buffers you can make 3 H1 buffers by moving the weights around. Also work in a A5 setup. With normal price of about 15 per tungsten weight this on sale is an excellent value. I alway tune my buffer systems on a new rifle and I keep an assortment of weights to do it. To tune I starts by using the heaviest buffer combo I can, use some weak ass steel and keep dropping weight until the bolt carrier is held last round open, reliably. This will make a good multi purpose rifle that should eat anything. I do have a couple of my rifles set to xm193. This makes the rifle smoother and the more weight you have on the BCG/buffer riding home the more reliable it will be. A lot of the factory rifles are way over gassed so people don’t sent it back if it can’t cycle super cheap ammo. The price for this is faster component wear and a snappier rifle.

Full auto

I have this buffer on a full auto system. It runs flawlessly every time. Haven’t had a F2F or a pause in firing since I got it. it holds it’s on for sure

Perfect cure for over gassed heavy hitters

by

The original buffer weighed in at 2.92 oz, fine for 5.56 and similar. The brass from my .458 SOCOM was landing 6-8 feet to my right and 8-10 feet forward. The EXPO ARMS H3 I received weighed in at 5.54 oz. Brass falls on the bench 2-3 feet to the right and slightly forward. More importantly, the rifle STILL runs flawlessly! Don't think it's my imagination that there is more felt recoil, seems to make sense that it would. Anyway, the buffer has this thumper running right, couldn't recommend highly enough!

Nice Part. Thank you

Seems to be a quality part, I took mine out of the box and threw it on the precision crankshaft balancing scale, and it came in at 5.715 OZ. Much quieter in your hand when you shake it compared to the palmetto black std carbine buffer , and the gold andersons. Seems that the tungstens inside have less clearance, but plenty to buffer. Best deal on the internet!

AR-15 build 762x39 and a 20 inch barrel; rifle length gas tube.

by -

Why? - because I can.

The short of it is, this H3 Buffer resolved my fail to eject in my current build.
Barrel: 7.62x39 20 Inch w/rifle length gas tube.
Gas block: size/unknown, came with barrel
BCG: Bear Creek Arsenal for the 7.62x39
(I had this as an extra BCG from a few builds/years ago)
Stock: MAGPUL/Carbine. Replaced with a rifle stock and related spring.

Previously using the stock rifle buffer; it did pull the round from the barrel, but failed to eject and load the next round.

Ejecting rounds solidly at 3 O'clock now.

It'll buff out.

Truthfully, bought this for the three tungsten weights for an intermediate buffer. The weights came in at 43.12g, 43.25g, and 43.26g. I don't see any reason why the body and green buffer pad wouldn't preform just as well as a higher priced buffer. I guess you wouldn't be able to brag to all you AFRCOM pretend friends that you spent 45 buck on a "********, ****, or ***" buffer. And Primary Arms always ships/delivers fast with great prices. TEXAS!

This is the best thing I've done to my AR.

This is perfect. My AR functioned fine with the stock buffer, but it was a very harsh weapon. Tried the H1 version and it helped, ordered the H2 and this one so I'd have a nice range... now if any of my friends want to step up in buffer weight I'll have a complete kit for them to try. Anyway, skipped up to this heavier buffer and my AR is a completely different rifle. So much smoother. Still no feed issues. Brilliant. Can't wait for my next range day.
