Magpul Enhanced AR-15 Ejection Port Cover - Black

Extremely simple and does what it's suppose to.

While it is a bit silly to spend money on a quick detach dust cover, its incredibly well built vs any other polymer cover. It also looks good and is a breeze to install.

Spend 20 minutes shaving off polymer so that it snaps open and shut like a dust cover should. Still won't won't work properly. Think maybe the upper is out of spec, try it on 2 different uppers with same problem. Be mad at yourself for trying something new.

Magpul's website says that these covers are "Compatible with Mil-spec AR15 upper receivers that accept USGI ejection port covers". My Aero Precision uppers take USGI ejection port covers, but these won't fit. Not even close. That would have been nice to know before I wasted my money. I replaced them with covers from Strike Industries, and they fit fine.

Works great on the milspec upper receivers, but does not fit on aero's m4e1 receiver

It took longer to get this out of the package than to install it on the rifle! It is a snug fit and functions just like it should. It is in the process of being tested for endurance. It is all polymer except for the spring. If there are any issues I will be updating this review. But it is a dust cover, I don’t think I will be updating this with anything but positive comments.

Bought this for use with the above, would not fit normally and even after getting into place would not swing freely and would definitely cause malfunctions. Think this was more on Aero's part than Magpul's as the Aero Precision M4E1 upper threaded (NOT THE ENHANCED) holes for the ejection port cover are slightly different than a standard AR15 upper receiver. Not enough to get out of MILSPEC but enough so that this specialty part won't work with them.

I love this ejection port door; the polymer is nicer on your anodizing, and the connection method... *chef's kiss* .. brilliant. Installing a new one of these is usually a nightmare so this is truly innovative.

One issue- on my BCM upper; the door doesn't seem to want to close naturally.. you have to kind of move it a tiny bit or really slam it shut. It's not a big deal, so I didn't deduct a star but i wonder if the polymer is too thick. The polymer design that daniel defense uses is thinner and works more smooth. But that could be because of the attachment method.

Another great Magpul product, no more little C-clip headaches and easier to take off with a rail on your gun.

Required copious sanding to move freely on a conventional upper. Its open position is @ a more acute angle, making this higher profile than conventional designs.
