The Primary Arms SLx MD-25 Gen 2 Microdot with ACSS CQB reticle now comes with AutoLive, improving the functionality of an already amazing red dot sight. Stretch that already insanely long battery life even further and remove that fear of picking up your rifle and the dot not being there. With this red dot sight, the moment you pick up your rifle, the dot will turn on and be ready precisely when you need it. After sitting motionless for a brief period of time, the red dot will shut off and conserve battery. Still featuring the same lightweight and durable design with a field of view that rivals larger 30mm red dots, the MD-25 Gen 2 is a no-brainer upgrade to add to your collection.
The ACSS CQB reticle features three BDC dots underneath the chevron, allowing an unprecedented 600 yards of bullet drop compensation for 7.62 NATO or 5.56 NATO calibers in a compact red dot sight. Auto ranging and wind leads are also incorporated into this smart reticle. A CQB horseshoe grabs the eye instantly for close quarters shooting and also approximates the spread pattern of 00 buckshot at 25 yards.

The Gen 2 SLx 25mm Red Dot been equipped with the next generation ruggedized mounting system. Everything about these mounts has been upgraded from materials and finish to the design in order to create a mount that will not just clamp securely to your rail, but stand up the rigors of real-world use. Integrated recoil lugs help lock your mount in place against the heaviest recoil while large diameter crossbolts give you significantly improved clamping power and will hold up to significant torque. The included riser is the perfect height for AR-15s and AR-10s, but can be easily removed to for installation on AKs, shotguns, and more.
The SLx 25mm Gen 2 red dot includes the low base, a standard riser, and two different height spacers, as well as appropriate mounting hardware. With just the low base, a central height of 0.96” can be achieved. Add the standard riser for 1.41”. With the riser and thin spacer, your central height will be 1.54”. Using the thick spacer will place the optic at 1.64” height. With these options you can easily configure your optic to perfectly match your firearm and shooting style.

MD-25 with ACSS CQB

This is my 5th or 6th scope purchase from PA. I've never been disappointed yet, so when this one was announced I quickly put it on pre-order to replace a Vortex SPARC that I've never been happy with. I bought this to go on a home defense bullpup shotgun. It is fantastic for this purpose. The big outer circle, with the small aiming dot in the middle, is perfect for fast sight acquisition, and the shake-awake feature gives you one less thing to think about in a crisis situation. The included height adjustment plates let you tailor the height of the sight to your own weapon and preferences. Just another area where PA beats the competition in quality, value, and price. With eleven brightness settings on this reticle, you see it outside in the brightest sun, all the way down to night vision compatibility. I usually prefer green illumination over red, but this sight is extremely clear and my old eyes have no problems with it. - Highly recommended.

Good, but not great.

Only complaint is the bdc reticle is too small to be of any use. My eyesight is nearly perfect and the chevron looks like a dot, and the dots look like one vertical line. I had two friends look through it and they said the same thing. Or maybe mine is just defective.

Not sure what is different from the gen 1 model, but I solely bought it for the autolive feature. More than impressed.

-Reticle is CLEAN. I have an astigmatism, very rarely the horseshoe will slightly rainbow if my eyes are dry, but for the most part it is picture perfect. No flaring, smudging, or starbursting for me. Reticle is the perfect size. Might need a magnifier for perfect chevron image.
-25 mm lens
-Feels sturdy
Cons
-Rotary knob is big, but I do not notice it when shooting so I can't knock off a star.
-Lens covers not included. Was not mentioned on the page and I wish I would have bought them with the optic so I didn't have to dish out shipping again.
-Negligible blue tint in certain lighting. My brain doesn't register it when shooting.
Best optic in this price range hands down.

Got this or my AR-15 project that is just about done. Very nice quality, but as said in another review by someone else, the chevron is a little small. The specifications should list in BOLD that a lens cover is NOT INCLUDED! Now I need to buy it and pay for shipping again grrrr! Wish it would have said something so I would have know to buy it then.

Primary Arms Customer Service is awesome. Within 10 minutes of posting my previous review, PA Customer Service reached out to me by a phone call about my order. Apparently my order for this Optical was supposed to be free shipping, which I wasn’t aware of. So they offered a credit back, I took a store credit, because I plan on buying more STUFF! Plus sending me the lens cover for this PRIMARY ARMS SLX MD-25 Optical.
The phone call caught me off guard, but AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE! Most definitely buying again and recommending to my friends.
Primary Arms is absolutely the best bang for the buck!

I have a gen 1 and it looks like they fixed the only issue it had not having "shake awake" so this gen 2 is really the perfect dot only thing better is going holographic which will be 3-4x the price. So I highly recommend this, I'm very happy with my purchase and I returned 2 or 3 other dots (Romeo 5, HoloSun 403) before settling on this and I probably won't be buying any other brand of optic unless money becomes no object. I really love this dot, Primary Arwms is the business! ACSS > 2 MOA Dot

Matched up with the Holosun HM3X 3X Magnifier. Seriously consider purchasing the Primary Arms SLx 25mm Red Dot Anti-Reflection Device for it to protect the objective lens. Always great service from the P/A staff!
great with 1 caveat

as mentioned in other reviews for some reason in this ACSS implementation the chevron is so small as to appear to be a dot and the bdc dots look like lens flare... have used some of the ACSS pistol optics and the chevron is much larger.
that said, I just treat the chevron like a dot and the horseshoe as a donut of death.
very much like the larger aperature compared to the typical 20/22mm red dots.
