Works fine
by The fly
Put this on an 11.5" with carbine length tube. The hand guard blocked access to the screw so I fired without it. Started 1 turn out and it fte. Ended at 1.5 turns out, reinstalled the hand guard and it ejects every case. I'll buy another one for a 7.5".
Works on my 7.62 build
by Dave S
I bought a 7.62 upper that only let me shoot 3 rounds at the range before it froze. It was severely under-gassed. I took it home and reamed the gas port to the next greater size. I installed this block, and was able to access the adjustable screw and set screw with the handguard on. Took it back to the range days later and it cycled ammo like Tula, Wolf, Barnaul, Monarch, and some 20 year-old Russian ammo without a hiccup! I'm very happy with this block that I bought another one for my latest build.
Outstanding

This gas block is an outstanding value for the money. It offers very precise adjusment. As far as fitment with various hand guards, if you have an opening in your current handguard that exposes the rearward/upward most half of your current gas block, you will be able to easily access the adjustment screw.
Check your system to see if you need a side adj, or front adj gas block.

I bought mine last fall. The adjustment screw was on the side, locking screw up front. Sounds like what folks are calling the "old style" now. Mine worked fine in a carbine length system with an Odin Works hand guard, you can reach the adjustment screw from the side. If you have a 15 inch hand guard, reaching the lock screw from the front might be an issue. I made an extension for my Allen wrench. I just swapped the hand guard to a Diamond head, and I can not reach the side set screw through the new hand guard. There are pros and cons to every set up. Just check your system to see if a side adjustment, or front adjustment, screw will work better for you. I am very happy with the build quality of the gas block.

Seekins at its finest
Nice for the price

They must have moved the brass screw as mine is in the front. I can adjust it with the handguard on but need a long allen key for the front screw. My handguard is a UTG pro slim and I can access the adjustment screw from the side.
Leaks all over
by REDAV
As for Primary Armas service this guys are prompt in the shipping and communication. The gas block leaks through the adjustment screw the the set screw and the gas tube port. Measuring with a gas flow gauge it looses 23% of the input presure. Using Loctite doesn't help. I had to stop the leaks using high temperature silicone sealant. No very good as when screwing in or out the adjustment I may bring some cured silicone into the gas tube and defeat all purpose. I have other Seekins products and this one doesn't look like it is of their making. Not happy.
Price-Checking before ordering a second for next year's SBR and saw....
by randal
I was just price-checking before ordering a second for next year's SBR and saw a few bad reviews (seem outdated).:I just bought on for a 16" ARP 6.8 spc middy build that I opened up the gas port large enough to cycle OTC ammo. Once opened I used this gem to back the gas down to tame recoil on the hotter hunting loads. My cheaper $8 import nonadjustable LP gas block leaked a tad w/the bigger port but this one was flawless. Sometimes a gas block and barrel can be a bit loose depending on the stacked tolerances. :The one I bought was in 2016 August was it? NOTE: mine had the gas screw to the side as the old style and the setscrew to the FRONT. It was a thing of beauty now I can shoot it all out of the 16" middy and were I to can it I don't have to eat gas. :One note I used a Midwest Industries SSM style keymod generic clone 15" handguard. These are super small 10oz type free-floats and I did a bit of relief to ensure it floated. I didn't mount one of the Noveske NSR style units I use but they seem to be a scoatch more roomy under the guard. :I can't say which style old or new you will get if you order but I like the redesign.
New easy adjust model now!
by Steven Littleton
I recently purchased a complete seekins upper chambered in the .300 AAC blk. And it came with this adjustable gas block already installed. I have purchased many items from PA with great success and lightning fast shipping...but this particular upper came from a different vendor. I just wanted to clarify that this adj.GB now comes with the set screw facing towards the muzzle for easier setting and releasing of the (lock down) set screw. Besides that everything looks the same. Hope this helps some of you to make an informed decision.
PS. Even if you get an older model with the set screw on the rear of the device it should work fine unless your running a supper heavy barrle, Then it will be a little bit more of a chore to operate but still very doable. Thanks PA for all you do for the community!
Great service!

I was so happy when I found that Primary Arms actually had the gas block in stock. What really amazed me was how fast I got it.
