Details
Just like their standard BCGs, the Lightweight has been fully magnetic particle inspected and high pressure tested to protect against material defects. The carrier is machined from durable 8620 tool steel and the bolt from 9310 tool steel for maximum service life. Almost every part has been treated with nickel boron to allow for easy cleanup of even the worst carbon fouling, as well as reducing the need for external lubrication thanks to the very slick finish. The gas key is properly staked, the extractor spring has been upgraded with an O-ring for increased tension, and the Spike’s Tactical Spider Logo is engraved on the right side of the carrier to show through the ejection port. Assembled BCG weighs 10.5 oz.

spikes let me down.

$250.00 and it showed up looking like it had 1000 rounds through it, then rolled in the sand and baked in the oven at 400º for 2 hours. Not what you'd expect for $250.00. Emailed spikes and no answer after 3 days. Super fast shipping though! :-)

All you could ask for in a BCG! amazing quality and style! Has Spikes spider logo engraved in it. Full auto version is a plus. Well worth the extra $25-$50 to have this kind of quality and a style second to none.

This BCG is high quality, looks cool, and weighs 10.5 oz exactly as stated in the ad according to an expensive electronic postal scale. However, the weight is only slightly less than a WMD NB Standard at 11.6 oz and an "Other" (maybe Anderson) NB Standard at 11.7 oz. Expensive 1 oz.

Very smooth operation from the nickel boron. Put 60 rounds through it the second I got it and it cleans up very nice. It looks very pretty but as a machinist myself I would suggest they use a ball nose endmill for the holes and dimples and make sure the surface finishes are a bit better in some tiny spots. I’d pay an $25 for the little extra machine time. But definitely worth the money!!

Spikes has done a great job on this beast. For an enhanced full auto BCG made of carpenter steel this thing can hold its own. Cycles smooth and fast and literally wipes clean with a dust cloth.
