The Strike Industries Checkmate Comp is a multifunctional muzzle device with four off-set, serrated, angled prongs that stabilize climb and recoil while helping reduce flash.
Features:

The offset, angled design is meant to increase stability, and the aggressive serrated front adds a stand-off function that keeps people from getting too close.
Strike lists the Checkmate as compatible with its SI Oppressor blast shield, which is useful if you shoot indoors or beside others. Time the device with the included crush washer so the top port sits where you want it.
At 1-7/8 inches and 2.4 ounces, the Checkmate adds little length or weight to a carbine. Strike lists relatively low muzzle flash among its features, though it is a compensator and not a dedicated flash hider.

Checkmate Comp

The Checkmate comp is a thing of beauty. It works as advertised helping with muzzle rise. Definitely not an indoor shooting comp; it's loud and a bit of a flamethrower. It also doubles as a tool/ weapon- window breaker, sharp cutting edges will work just fine as a weapon itself while reloading or out. Fast shipping and great service from PA as usual.

I dig this. It’s compact, functions properly, and looks awesome. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars, is because you can’t use an armorers wrench to install. The wrench cut is bigger than a standard AR muzzle device.

Bought this device for a 14.5" LW build. Good looks no noticeable machine marks. Recoil is nearly eliminated and muzzle rise well controlled I was actually surprised how well it worked as a small single chamber. Shot at dusk couple different powders there's definitely some flash in the ports but not as bad as some others.
