Conceived for the 5.56 NATO cartridge, the Yankee Hill Machine Phantom Comp/Flash Hider’s 5-port design helps to mitigate dust signature when shooting from the prone position by eliminating downward facing ports. Unlike the YHM-28-5C2, this device features a smooth face for those who may not prefer aggressive end cuts.

Great “Flash Hider”

Ok, first off this is a Flash Hider and not a compensator so it’s mostly designed to hide flash but does have the lower section facing the ground blocked thus helping to acquire targets faster as gasses are mostly pushed up and through the sides. I’ve got these on all my SHTF 556’s and have to say that I’ve noticed a significant flash suppression difference from the standard birdcage. Excellent product from Yankee Hill Machine. The only negative is that I wish they were Nitrided and not phosphate cause they’re slightly dull in finish when compared to standard mil spec anodized finishes but hey, for this price I bought a box full.
