NOT PROPERLY STAKED GAS KEY
by P226 shooter -
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND...
<br>I bought this bolt for a new build on black friday with high hopes. When I received the BCG I noticed the staking job on the key looked very marginal but had no prior experience with a gas key coming loose, so I carried on. I was finally able to take the rifle to the range a few months later in January and it was immediately a bolt action AR-15 from the first shot. The action would not cycle at all. I began taking the rifle apart and immediately discovered the gas key was extremely loose and I could back the bolts out with no interference from the "staking." The concentrated carbon build up pattern on the inside the sides of the upper were a clear indicator gas was escaping the sides of the key. A single dark spot was present on actual bolt so it was evident at least some gas was getting there and only hitting one spot singe the BCG was failing to cycle.
<br>Long story short I will not buy another Failzero product...

Awesome Bcg never has let me down! Super slick
Fail zero my @zz
Purchased over a year ago and recently installed new in a new AR15 with a Noveski barrel. Had to take the rifle to a gunsmith as the bolt would hang up in the chamber and the rifle had to be “mortared” on the ground to get the bolt carrier group released from the chamber. This happened on approximately every 5 or 6 rounds. Gunsmith changed out the bolt on the BCG and rifle worked perfectly. So much for”Fail” often for me.

Excellent quality. My 3rd one. Never had an issue in performance. I'm writing this review because of primary arms customer service. I had a very large order and I was short a part that was supposed to be in the box, I used the chat feature on the website and the next day my part was here. Thank you Jonathan.
Work with echo trigger
This bolt is smooth like butter have about 600 rounds out of my 7.5 build works with my echo trigger it’s a full auto bolt so no worries it’s works like a dream easy to clean and finish its great no problems little to no oils needed I got this on sale and it’s way worth the upgrade glad I got it everything was constructed well gas key was perfect I would recommend finish is super nice also
Great BCG but it doesn’t keep its chrome look.
This is a great BCG. It has never given me one once of trouble after putting 500 rounds through it. The only disappointing thing is that it doesn’t maintain that nice chrome look. I wish I could put a picture in the review. After 500 rounds it turns black, so I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Wow no dissatisfaction here! Quality part looks great! Right away you can see the quality in the finish not a single blemish and a mirror finish. Just dropped right in my M4e1 enhanced upper and performed as good as it looks 50 rds in not one malfunction and you dont gotta soak it with oil. Wipes clean with minimal effort. Couldnt be more pleased and thanks for the free PA camo hat😁
Solid, Slick, and well built

Installed with a WMD trigger and aftermarket springs. The BCG is top quality. I've read other poor reviews, but it must have been a QD issue as my bolt was gorgeous with the logo laser cut into the bolt. I love the nickel boron coating. The first thing I did was clean the gun and lightly lube the bolt carrier. It is VERY slick, even before any lubrication. It almost slipped out of my Nitrile gloved hands. I inspected every aspect of bolt carrier, extractor, etc down to the firing pin. The key was perfectly staked on what seemed like quality fasteners as the staking left no marks on the fasteners themselves meaning that they were very hard. If I run into problems, I'll update, but I don't expect it. My AR is functioning like a mechanical marvel.
DO NOT PURCHASE

Heard poor things about this BCG but for some reason bought it anyways. The company is known for using cheap parts, such as YFS fasteners with horrible staking instead of grade 8 torx. Mine failed on me after about 50 rounds, the bolt locked to the rear, inserted a fresh magazine, hit the bolt release, and the round went off. Very unsafe failure and I even caught it on camera, sent the video to FailZero with no response. Use at your own discretion.
Do Not Buy!!!

Bought one of these on a Black Friday 2018 deal. This thing is a complete POS. I dropped it into a high end Seekins build and pulled it right back out when I had to use the forward assist just to get it into battery...every time. I'm not talking tapping the FA, I'm talking pounding it every time. Replaced it with a Lantac e-bcg and it is now smooth as butter. Will never buy another one of these pieces of crap ever again. Do yourself a huge favor and steer way clear of these things. I don't care what the coating is if it won't even seat properly.
Nice BCG at great price

Picked up a Fail Zero Nickel Boron BCC while on sale for $119.00. Coating is perfect and gas key tight: bolts properly staked. Ordered Saturday & arrived Monday. Can't beat Primary Arms.

Dropped in a 10.5" Ghost upper - 300 Blackout. Shot 500 rounds suppressed. Carbon wiped right off the BCG. No failures, no issues. I would buy this brand again in a heartbeat.
If you had told me that cleaning my BCG completely would consist of wiping it with a dry shop rag, I would have laughed at you. Now I know it's true! Carbon, copper, whatever is on that BCG is just going to wipe right off. I thought this part was just bragging rights for cool kids or operators who operate, but nope - this stuff is the ticket even for medium speed medium drag guys too. Stop thinking and buy this!
Fail a lot

Not impressed, IMO it is what is making my AR unreliable. I'm going to swap out with a DD BCG to validate. I was also contacted about a recall because of the timing of when I bought, not a warm-fuzzy they are spitting out a product with such low QC that a recall on gas key staking has to go out. I was enticed with the gucci coating and description but your probably better off getting an entry level 'regular' BCG as far as reliable operation goes.
Staking and fit and finish is perfect

Just got my FAIL ZERO BCG In today I ordered this past Saturday And got it in Wednesday Fast shipping I just look over the BCG went through it took it apart and everything is done beautiful me the finish is smooth and nice there are no tooling marks on it the gas key As a beautiful staking Fit and finish is also Will do Another review after this weekend when I test it out But so far I am very happy and everything seems to be great I will be buying a another one
PA shipped very fast as usual. However,my bcg needed to be restaked and the gas key bolts weren't even tight when it arrived. I sent it back for repairs, got it back quickly from the coating company. It has ran well but has about 2000 rounds through it and already needs new gas rings. Decent bcg if you're on budget, but I'd eat ramen for a few weeks to save up the money and get something better.
Slick And Smooth Cycling
by ReconViper1 -
I don't like giving perfect scores but this glassy smooth BCG earned it. Very slick and classy looking too. Cycles so smooth with my JP tuned and polished spring.

Piece of junk. Couldn't fire 5 rounds w/o a failure to seat, failure to eject, or failure to fire. I have approx 700 rounds thru the gun and never had an issue until I put in this bcg. Warrantied it thru failzero, new bcg is no better. This one is failure to eject or failure to fire. I called failzero and was told I need to talk to the store I bought it from. Primary Arms has always been great with customer service. I'll never buy another failzero product again.

Not one issue with this BCG, took it right out of the box, into my rifle, and put 200 rounds down range with no hiccups at all, pulled it out, cleaned and lubed it and did 200 more rounds with same results. I may pick up 3 more for other rifles I have laying around. For the price, you really can't beat it!
Not bad for the price
300 Rounds through and I have had zero functioning issues. Only problem was I already had to replace the gas rings. Honestly I didn't check the rings when I took it out of the packaging but other than that, it has performed really well. Zero issues with coating and zero issues with excessive wear so far. I would buy another fail zero bcg.

Great BCG but a little overpriced. Overall works nicely.
by Jason s
It works fine. But I had high hopes for this bolt. I just got it a few days ago and I'm not impressed with it the gas key has dents around the opening and the bolt coating doesn't look like the pictures at all. Even the fail zero letters are coming off.

Bought two of these when they went in sale and I am extremely disappointed. There were machine marks down the side of one carrier and gouges on the edge of the gas key on another. The BCG also leaks gas resulting in inconsistent cycling/short cycling with no random casing ejection. Until Fail Zero can prove they have gotten their stuff together then I will never buy another. Just because they have the patent for the EXO coating obviously doesn't mean that their products are quality. I will be trying to get this back on a warranty. Hopefully their warranty is better than their product.
Nice BCG and good deal
by Robert DC
I order this 2 BCG yesterday and they shipped already. I just wonder if it work to My AR 15 Stag arm and it for M16 . I live in California that don't allow full auto . I got a good deal with free Anderson 16' Barrel . I just want to know it it works and no problem at all.
Love the bolt carrier!
It's really smooth shooting along with a David tubb flat wire spring. Great awesome product a must have!
