Can’t believe I only paid $199

Nice fit and finish only took this out to 50 yards but it was shooting 1” groups with budget M193 and Wolf Steel case and a Bushnell 1-4 AR optic .
The only issue I had was when it took it my indoor range to get a 25 yard zero I had matched this up with an Anderson BCG I purchased at PA on sales a few weeks before the gun wound not cycle at all actually locked the bolt in battery after I got it un jammmed I swap the bolt with a PSA bolt from my other AR and it functioned flawlessly. And the Anderson Bolt Functioned Flawlessly in my other upper with carbine length gas system.

Goes bang... sometimes

This is my second time writing this review so I'll keep it short. This is not a duty upper. It's not even good enough for plinking. The reliability is poor.

We are happy that we were able to help with your issue. That new gas block should help you when you are using your suppressor.

Won't Work with Some GI Mags

by -

I bought a couple and for the money, they seem pretty good. There is a noticeable difference when shooting a BCM comp, but not with this comp. Not crazy about the plastic brass deflector either.

Functionally, they have been flawless using PMags. GI aluminum mags (NHMTG) would not seat. HK steel mag could be forced in and out with much drag. Lancers seem to work fine.

The corners of the GI metal mags are bent on a tight/sharp radius. The FM uppers I received have a radius at the front/top of the mag area rather than being cut squarely like my other uppers. The sharp corners of the GI mags appear to hit the radius, preventing seating. They will not lock in place. Lancers and PMags have more rounded corners which don't interfere.

If they would fix this, I would buy a couple more... even at $250. Maybe at $300 if they would put a BCM comp on it instead. I think the anti-rotation tabbed MLok handguard and pinned gas block add value.

Great value

I bought one of these to assemble a lower-cost AR. The first time on the range, I was very impressed. It is very, very accurate. The muzzle brake works well. I would easily recommend it and would buy it again if the need arises.

Not bad

by -

It is lightweight and pretty good fit and finish. The charging handle fit is pretty loosey goosey, causing it to bind sometimes if you only pull on one side. I had a scope on it for a bit and stacked hits at 36 yds. Never shot it at distance for groups. Hand guard came loose after maybe 200-300 rounds. Not locktighted. The brake that comes on it is too aggressive. It would literally have negative recoil lol. Threw an A2 on instead. The fit with the upper and lower looks sweet with billet cut outs. Also no forward assist if you care about that. All in all a good buy for 200 bucks and better than a fixed fsb upper from psa if you want something more modern.

Good for the price

Got this for my first build. Pretty solid, hand guard is proprietary and pairs well with the upper receiver. There’s a little slop on my aero x-15 lower. With the tension screw in the lower just behind the grip screw basically eliminates the slop. The only issue had was with the screws that secure the hand guard. The got pretty loose out the box. I’d recommend a little loctite just so they don’t back out. Besides that keeping it well lubed it ran flawless. My buddies said it was a bit concussive but I’d say that it’s the brake.

Great Value

I picked up one of these in late 2022 while it was on sale. I'd never used FM products and honestly didn't know what to expect. I dropped it onto a PSA receiver and used a Toolcraft BCG I already had. I put a Romeo 5 that I had laying around on the gun and took it to the range. After a few rounds to zero the red dot, I started shooting it at 25 yard (the limit of the indoor range I was at). The gun was dead on. Groups were very tight and the muzzle brake did a great job (though a little loud). To date, I've put about 500 rounds through this one. I'd absolutely recommend this upper.

Great lite upper. Swabbed barrel and it was clean from the factory! Installed BCG and CH and took to range. Ran flawlessly.

Very nice

I’m loving it so far. The accuracy is very good and I’ve fed it steel case 5.56 and .223 with zero issues.

Lines were smooth. No forward assist. M-4 barrel reduced the weight. Comp works, but I may change it later. Slapped it on a PSA carbine built lower for testing, and it worked perfectly. This upper fit up nicely with everything mated it up to.
Minimalist, lite weight, poor man build complete. Works great. Came out <7lbs, optic, sites, and rail covers. I'm sold on Foxtrot Mike products. The biggest plus, 1:8 twist and .223 Wylde barrel. Awesomeness!!! It's hard to find that .223 Wylde ammo, though. Lol
