Geissele Automatics Maritime Bolt Catch

I've used this bolt catch on 5 AR-15 build to date and have had no issues whatsoever. Works well with the Troy designs ambi mag release as well as the CMC trigger with anti-walk pins. Though it can be a bit finicky installing the anti-walk pins if this bolt catch is already installed.

Only issue I've run into so far with them is that they are not compatible with the Aero Precision M5 lower receiver. It will fit just fine on it, but there isn't enough room on the receiver for it to raise the bolt catch as needed. This is the only type of lower receiver I've tried it with so it may fit others just fine.

Other than that small issue, they're a solid upgrade to any AR-15 lower that I've come across.

Easy install and is a great addition to any setup over the Mil-spec option.

Excellent finish as expected from Geissele. Requires minor trimming to clear hammer pin removal on milspec lowers along with the fact that it is a little over priced drops score to 4 of 5 stars.

This bolt catch is amazing, well made, and functions perfectly. Love the extended surface area top and bottom, makes charging the rifle a lot easier. The textured surface ensures contact is unmistakable, no more fumbling my hand around like with the mil-spec bolt catch my AR came with from the factory. Even when it's a part as small as this, Geissele is capable of showing off its superior designs and craftsmanship.

Lil big and kinda bulky but works great and this thing is tough

i replaced the bad lever with this, in my opinion this bolt release from Giselle is much better and looks nicer

As a lefty, and for anyone else, this is my go-to bolt catch for all builds. Just be sure to order a plunger and spring for new builds as this only comes with the roll pin.


If you use an ambi mag release, this could interfere with that, but you can trim the bottom of the catch and repaint it as other have suggested.

To help with my little T-rex hands, I paired this beautiful Geissele Maritime bolt catch with a Troy Ambi mag release for my Tippmann AR style rifle. There was no interference between the Geissele and the Troy. Normally that would be the end of it. However, when I re-assembled the upper, I found that the stock bolt catch was proprietary to Tippmann rifles, and the Geissele bolt catch would not function. So, except for Tippmann rifles, the Geissele Maritime bolt catch is great. Primary Arms customer service was great - no problem with the return.

A lot better than the traditional bolt stop. I like how the crunch roll pin is a little oversized. I know some purist go for the flush fit, but it makes installation easier. The only down side is trigger install/re-install might be problematic.

I use this bolt catch for ALL AR builds. Great fit and function. The only detractor I have is Geissele needs to include the plunger and spring with it in one kit. I can't tell you how many times I've forgot to order them when I buy one of these.
