The Barrel Extension Vise (BEV) is a versatile, all-in-one tool for working on AR-15 and M4 upper receivers. This compact vise block securely holds the barrel extension using solid steel lugs and a full-length support shank, which prevents any flexing. By doing so, it ensures that all torque from installing or removing barrel nuts and muzzle devices is applied directly to the barrel, not the more fragile aluminum receiver.

The Magpul BEV mounts easily in a bench vise and is compatible with both billet and forged upper receivers. Its steel components are specially hardened to be durable without damaging the barrel extension. All other contact points are made from a tough Magpul polymer to protect your receiver's finish.

Features:

  • Compatible with AR-15/M4 upper and lower receivers
  • Steel lugs engage barrel extension securely
  • Full-length steel support shank for strength
  • Magpul polymer surfaces protect aluminum receivers
  • O-ring post stabilizes with bolt carrier
  • Includes pin to hold upper receiver in place
  • Can be used as a magwell vise block for lower receivers
  • Weight: 11.2 oz

For extra stability, the BEV uses an O-ring post that engages with the bolt carrier, and a separate pin holds the upper receiver in the correct position. This tool can also be flipped over and used as a mag well vise block, providing solid support for your lower receiver during maintenance and other tasks.

The only way

by

Magpul quality as usual. A barrel block that indexes into the barrel's locking lugs is the ONLY way to go in my opinion when it comes to torquing a barrel nut or flash hider/comp.

didn't fit

by

Looks well made but it doesn't fit the barrel (Faxon) of my current build. Disappointing, but it does fit the barrel on my buddy's gun so I don't know if it's the BEV or the barrel.

Great Block

by

Just completed my first AR build using this block. It is a great tool that is very well made. It stood up to any torquing or hammering that was done no problem.

Good Combo

by

It's good overall and well made. My only grips are, the small amount of play using the mag block and that you have to use the bolt carrier for the upper mount. Kind of annoying being required to take the bolt out of the carrier just to remove a flash hider. You could always buy a blank carrier or maybe magpul will come out with a gen 2 version that includes a dummy carrier.

Excellent product

It just plain works. I want one for an AR-10.

Magpul BEV Block

by

Innovative design is versatile and useful, combines tools for holding both lower and upper receivers in a vice. Both work exceptionally well, very happy buyer.

Everyone needs one of these, seriously.

If you ever want to change, muzzle devices/barrels/handguards this thing is awesome and super strong. Way better than the giesselle reaction rod and half the price! Use your own bolt carrier with bolt removed to provide even better upper contact than reaction rod can offer.

Awesome

by

I was considering the reaction rod until I found this BEV block. Cheaper, serves the same purpose and it worked great for my barrel and muzzle break install.

Not great.

by

I purchased this instead of the Geissele reaction rod based on the vast price difference and I'm not sure I made the correct choice. The build quality seems to be there, but the ease of use was not. Perhaps it was the vise I was using, but the BEV block kept slipping and the retaining pin that needs to be in or this won't work kept getting stuck. In the end, it got the job done.

Works Great

by

I like the ease of use and the reassurance that it gives me that I wont damage my rifle when I work on it.
