Fantastic Gunsmith Block
by Joshua -
This is great for working on upper and lower receivers. The only issue I have with it is the need to insert a Bolt Carrier into the rear to stabilize the assembly. Otherwise, it's an EXTREMELY useful tool that can allow you to do work without removing accessories.
Saved my barrel and upper receiver
by Andrew
I was doing my first build and used this device. I had no idea what 30-50 ft lbs of torque felt like (it’s not that much) and my torque wrench failed to click because I had it in a backwards configuration (go ahead and laugh, I was a noob).
Anyways, this resulted in me putting OVER 100 FT LBS of torque on my barrel nut. Should’ve been enough to destroy the receiver, the barrel, and the barrel extension. Turns out that even though the aluminum barrel nut cracked and its wrench indexing teeth sheared partially off, the receiver and barrel were perfectly unscathed and were cleared by both the manufacturers and a gunsmith as being in great condition.
Anyway. Long story short, if it weren’t for the BEV block being inserted in the barrel lugs, my receiver and barrel would’ve been destroyed. Instead, they’re in perfect condition and I’m a little wiser and very grateful for this product
Grat product

Product was just what I needed. Worked as upper and lower receiver vise. Very happy with product and with Primary Arms on time delivery.
Best tool on market

If your going to tear down, build or rebuild this tool is a god send...made my repairs so easy and much less frustrating. Much safer and less risk of damaging components. This with a bench block and your set !
Great block!

Like how this engaged the barrel itself rather than encasing the upper. Used on both my 6.8 & 5.56. It was slightly loose on my 6.8 barrel but still did a good job. I tried locking it into my upper using the plastic pivot pins provided but they were a pain to put in & take back out. Maybe sanding the detents on the pins down a little would help but i got the job done without locking it into my upper.
Outstanding! Now Where's the LR308 BEV BLOCK?
by Joshua -
I absolutely LOVE this thing! I actually have two so I can put two lowers in the vice at once just to show off your dope assembly gear... PLEASE PRIMARY ask Magpul to Make a LR308 Version!!!! I would buy two of those also! And yes, I do strip the carrier and lock it into position with the pins when i torque or remove barrel nuts and muzzle devices! And I have put TON of pressure on this thing loosening stubborn barrel nuts and it just takes it time after time. I love Magpul; its just good stuff at a reasonable price. I don't have any complaints about my bevBlock other than I don't have one for 308. My Geissele AR10 reaction rod cost a small fortune!
2 Tools in 1 & Magpul quality
by Paul -
I used this to install a new stock kit on my DPMS today and it did everything it was meant to do. I DISAGREE with the reviewer that said it didn't lock in the magwell. My mag catch locked into the block and kept things where they needed to be & stayed until I pressed the mag release. Tried the barrel spines on a spare barrel and while it IS a little loose it should isolate the torque from the upper receiver when removing or installing a muzzle device or barrel nut just fine. I highly recommend this tool to anyone that likes a combo tool.
Good With Comments Not So Good

I've used the clamshells, which I don't like, and I've used the "bar" type that uses pins through the receiver coupling pin holes, and I do like them. I was attracted to the BEV as it locks up on the barrel extension like a reaction rod. It does do that but it is a sloppy, wobbly fit even with a stripped bolt carrier engaged from the rear. It does what it is intended to, swapping barrels and muzzle devices with all the torque isolated from the upper, but I will continue to use the bar type for light maintenance. It's more solid. Please don't misread this. It does isolate the torque from the upper as intended.
Magpul does it again

I never met a Magpul product I didn’t like. This is the latest gem. The BEV block more than adequately serves the purpose of two tools for a fraction of the cost. It works just fine for locking down a 6.5 Grendel upper that I am building. This is a very thoughtfully designed instrument.
OK

Good but hate how it doesnt lock onto a lower magwell like my other block and hate that it has to use a BCG.
