This Primary Arms rifle scope is part of the SLx optics line. SLx optics have built a reputation for innovation, reliability, and value. All SLx optics undergo rigorous field-testing during development to best serve you in any environment.
The Primary Arms 1X Compact Prism Scope with ACSS Cyclops reticle combines the durability and flexibility of an etched reticle with the speed and ease of use of a red dot. Unlike most prism optics, the 1X Compact Prism Scope has a generous 3.7 inches of eye relief combined with a massive 13mm exit pupil to provide an exceptionally forgiving eye box. This allows for a high degree of efficiency in red dot-style shooting, keeping both eyes open for fast target acquisition in a variety of positions and circumstances that no other prism scope can touch. The 1X Compact Prism Scope’s included 1913 MIL STD Picatinny rail mount is removable, and the scope body is compatible with industry standard microdot mounts.

At the heart of the 1X Compact Prism Scope is the new etched-glass ACSS Cyclops reticle. A heavy horseshoe makes rapid acquisition and reflex sight style snap shooting a breeze, especially when used in conjunction with the red reticle illumination. When speed is less important, the center chevron tip offers an infinitely precise point of aim that won’t cover the target, allowing for remarkable accuracy at long distances. Snap shots and precise hits aren’t the only tricks up this reticle’s sleeve, either! The edges of the horseshoe double as moving target leads, allowing for improved first shot hit probability on mobile targets. To account for the worst-case scenario, the etched reticle remains visible in black even when the scope loses power. Batteries are only needed for the full reticle illumination, giving you the flexibility of a high-contrast sight picture in the brightest of conditions.
The etched ACSS reticle combined with the fast focus eyepiece make this optic an excellent option for shooters with astigmatism. Red dots simply project an LED beam that reflects off glass back towards the shooter’s eye. The smaller the dot size, the more difficult it can be for the brain to resolve the shape, especially when combined with eye issues. This can lead to shooters perceiving the red dot as starbursts, comet tails, and a host of other distracting or obtrusive shapes depending on the shooter’s eye. Etched reticles and prism scopes don’t have this problem, and by adjusting the fast focus ocular ring, a perfectly crisp view of the reticle can be achieved for anyone. A clear sight picture will lead to more confident hits and better accuracy at further distances than ever before.
The 1X Prism Scope body is just as tough as the rest of the proven line of prism rifle scopes. During durability testing, the 1X Prism Scope outlived not one, but TWO piston-driven .308 Winchester rifles, selected specifically for their reputation for driving optics to failure. Combine that toughness with waterproof construction and nitrogen purging for fog resistance, and the 1X Prism Scope is an optic you can trust whether you’re a weekend plinker, a competitive ace, or a hunter in the field. Each optic is finished with a tough Type III hardcoat anodized black finish to keep your scope looking great for years.
The Primary Arms 1X Prism Scope is shipped with a riser mount that results in a centerline height of 1.41”, the standard height of an AR-15 platform front sight. A low base (1.05” to centerline) is also available as an accessory, which is useful for mounting to an AK-47 or other rifle with a stock located lower than the optics rail. In addition to these two mounts, two spacers are available for purchase to accommodate different applications and shooter preferences. When used with the riser mount they will result in a height to center line of 1.535”and 1.64”.
The 1X Prism Scope is compatible with all industry standard microdot style mounts, including QD options such as the popular American Defense AD-T1 series. When choosing a mount, note that the height from centerline of the scope to the surface where the mount attaches is .25” taller than a typical 20mm microdot. Therefore, if a mount normally results in a 20mm microdot sight height of 1.41”, installing it on the Primary Arms 1X prism scope will result in a taller height of 1.66”.

Damn good looking optic and built just right
by Mark -
I have astigmatism so this 1 power optic is like a red dot but better. View is clear and sharp. Reticle dot is perfect size. The optic is perfect size, almost the size of a Sig red dot, not heavy. Tough solid build and it comes with flip up covers. Dial up illumination to me is better than pressing + or - buttons.
1X Cyclops works well!
by RJS
Great 1x optic with very crisp reticle! The ACSS reticle works really well...out to 50-75yds I use the chevron/ horseshoe like a red dot & it works great. For 100-200+ yards use the the chevron as a fine aim point and I can place shots quite accurately. Using the chevron features for >200yds requires lots of concentration on smaller targets but this is expected with a 1x. Was originally concerned that the reticle was too small but after two extended shooting sessions I’m really comfortable with it...even with 60yr old eyes plus glasses. The easy to use reticle, large field of view, and super clear glass will keep this optic on my AR carbine for the short to mid-range run & gun events. For the longer ranges will switch to the 3x PA which I really like too (& after using the Cyclops wish it also had the chevron rather than the center dot.....hint)
Excellent!

I have used a multitude of optics, and this by far is one of the best regardless of price. The glass is very clear with no tinting, and the adjustable diopter is a God send, even when wearing corrective lenses. The eye relief is exceptional, and when mounted properly, gives the same both eye open experience as a traditional holographic / red dot. There have been complaints about the reticle being too small. I feel this is a personal preference. I think the reticle is perfect, remember, this is a 1x optic, not a zoom optic. The reticle gives you the extra ability for sub-tensions when you take your time, but is small enough for quick on target shots (much like a 2 moa red dot). The fact that the reticle is etched is icing on the cake; batteries go dead, no worries. The complaints about not day light bright...again, it is an etched reticle, during daylight bright situations, the black reticle shows fine, in low light, the illumination excels!
Harder to see target - 1X is more like .75X

I'll start off by saying I have a couple other Primary Arms optics and overall consider them a good value. This one however, was a total waste. I was a little optimistic I suppose thinking this would be a good choice for my favorite carbine. When I took it to sight it in I was frustrated that the target was even smaller than a regular one dot or normal eye view. My rifle instructor informed me that indeed it was built a little off and that was causing it to be less than 1X. He said lower price optics are always a roll of the dice and he's seen it before. (He was a Marine Sniper and knows his optic stuff inside out). I will be sending it back to Primary Arms and hope they will do the right thing.
As we spoke about over the phone this is due to the diopter not being adjusted to your eye. I'm glad I was able to walk you through getting that properly set. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about any of your Primary Arms Optics
Sturdy Optic, Excellent For CQB and Intermediate Ranges
by Waffles264
Replacement optic for my LMT after I put my ACSS ACOG on my POF Revolution DI. Simply put, this optic is great. I can find no fault with it. Primary Arms customer service is excellent and very helpful. As with every order I've placed with Primary Arms, I order it one day and two days later its in my mailbox.
AAAAALMOST perfect
by Darrin
I love this optic and everything about it save ONE THING: the reticle is NOT daylight sunshine bright. It works perfectly and really don't an issue since in the bright daylight it is visible being etched and all but I prefer to run illumination all the time especially when running and gunning. Thats my only gripe. Also, it magnifies really well.
So, I guess thay should be the one warning to buyers: NOT direct sunshine bright. Everything else? Literal perfection.
Perfect Optic For Astigmatism Users!
by Gary -
Got the email from PA that this was back in stock on 6/14 and had it in y hands on 6/22. I mounted it with the QD AD T-1 low mount on my MI QD rail that all comes together Beautifully on my PSAK-47 GF3. Cheek weld/optic height is a perfect fit for me, I'm 6'1 with long arms/torso and it all pairs nicely. My best advice for anyone out there, like myself with serious astigmatism is to go ahead and buy the Cyclops. *Please Note* that you will absolutely need to adjust the diopter before zeroing this optic, I suggest finding a blank wall/clear blue sky, and adjusting the diopter ring +/- to get the reticle as crisp/clear and large enough to be usable. This is a Fantastic optic boys and girls, love mine and glad I finally pulled the trigger on buying one. Once they come back in stock, I'll be snatching up one for my Bog LoL.
Exceeds Expectations

This is a remarkable optic. First off the glass is unbelievably clear from edge to edge, the reticle itself is clearly defined and easy to make out. The controls have a good tactile feel, the mount is solid, the weight is solid, but not nearly as much as you would think. I will most definitely purchase this again. I cannot recommend it enough.
Great optic! I would've paid more

A versatile optic I bought for a .223 Wylde build. With the etched reticle, you get a clearer and more dependable optic; battery failure is not catastrophic. I bought the optional 1/3 co-witness QD riser. It makes shouldering with ear protection and transfer between builds so much easier .
Fantastic Purchase. Best sight I own.

An absolutely great sight, esp for my older eyes. But I'd recommend this to anyone of any age.
Perfect feature balance between a "scope" and a red dot. Accuracy and a very clear sight picture. Really fast target acquisition. Tough as nails.
Just a note: the image of the reticle in the description is inaccurate. It's small. A lot smaller than the image suggests. The BDC chevron won't be much use to most people w/o a magnifier. People say in reviews "I wish that was bigger!" But the fact is, math is math. They can't make it "bigger" and still keep the math that makes the ACSS work. The horseshoe and chevron work great, as is, for anything out to 100 yards. If you're really interested in shooting longer than this, get a magnifier, or get an LPVO.
