Trustworthy, reliable, no corners cut

by -

Started with a 3X mag and realized that for my use case I need a 1X. Sighted in a few days ago on an 11.5" BCM. With my sight height over bore and the rounds that I was shooting I went with a 40 yd zero which gave me, within a 7" circle, a single point of aim out to 280 yard; figured with Hornady Ballistics App. I was able to confirm points of impact at 40, 100 and 200 yards to be consistent with calculations. Long story short, the glass on this sight, even at 1X, is so good that all of my concerns with not being able to see my target clearly, especially out to 300 yards, with no magnification, were totally squashed. Excellent light transmission makes it usable well after sun down. Cheap electronics don't do well with large temperature swings but I confirmed this to not be an issue as I have used it from 90 degrees down to 19 with no issue whatsoever. This is a tool that you can trust and I appreciate Primary for getting it to us for the price point.

Only One Wish

by

Great scope no problems. My only wish is you made a mount with which you could move scope backward without a riser.

Impressed

by

I picked this up along with the SLx 3x magnifier for a budget build and I'm impressed. The various mounting options, clarity of the glass and reticle are solid in such a compact package. When paired with an SLx style magnifier the combination looks sweet sitting pretty on that upper. Everything is a great value and works perfectly. Great work PA.

After 3k rounds

So after lots of use this thing has held up amazingly! Clear glass, bright illumination, etched reticle! This thing is perfect don’t even wait just get it!

Great optic but QC issues.

by -

I purchased the 1x with the green 5.56 reticle and received it very quickly, which was awesome. Unfortunately, looking at the circle around the center chevron, at about 11 o'clock there was a cluster of small bubbles in the etching which created a gap in the circle. PA was great about exchanging the optic but the green option was out of stock so I opted for the red reticle. This replacement scope also has defects in the reticle at 11 o'clock but it isn't as severe or noticeable as the first scope was, so I kept it instead of being "that guy" and asking for another exchange. Unfortunately, the brightness adjustment on the replacement scope is so difficult to turn its pretty ridiculous. I'm hoping it breaks in with time. The green reticle scope did not have this issue. I also own the GLX 2x Prism and that scope is amazing and without the issues I've had with the SLX 1x scopes. Hopefully PA can figure out the QC on the SLX line.

Nearly Perfect!

by

The Gen1 Cyclops 1x prism scope has served me well for 5 years.
However, 'better is the enemy of good enough' and I finally succumbed to the siren call of the Gen2.
Yes, for me it was worth the upgrade. Glass is clear, ACSS reticle is improved and all in a smaller/lighter design.
I purchased two of these (for two identical rifles) and right out of the box, one needed only 2 clicks left & 2 clicks down to be dead-on, and the other needed only 2 clicks up! With the dozens of optics I've used over the years, I've never encountered optics that were this close to being zeroed right ouf the box!
However, all is not perfect. Both my units exhibit the shaded reticle illumination mentioned by others and the brightness control knob is *very* stiff, much stiffer than I'd prefer (although they are loosening up some with use).
Despite these minor quibbles, I still give it 5 stars as the best 1x optic for age-challenged eyes (or even younger eyes).

Mounted on my 22 pistol

by

Needed a precision sight for my S&W SW-22 pistol but did not want a bulky and heavy scope and did not want any magnification.
This SLX-1 is perfect. More than enough eye relief for target shooting. It solved my astigmatism issues with open sights.

Took a chance

by

I bought this 1x with the 3x magnifier. I was really conflicted between this set up and an LPVO but decided with this set up after trying a similar setup with an ACSS red dot. I made a good choice. Its a much faster target finder than any LPVO and can reach out to 200 Yds easy enough. Also its built like a tank but small as a red dot.
My one complaint is that diopter was extremely tight. Almost immovable. After about 40 minutes I got it to budge and kept working it until I could fully focus to my liking. My hands were raw but whatever. Once I got it dialed in it was awesome. Once I got the magnifier dialed in the wow factor increased. One star for the raw hands and lost hour. Love it tho.

GREAT Sight

by -

I bought a Colt 6940 and needed an Optic for it. I looked at a number of sights at a local gun shop, red dots, prisms, holographic, etc..

Aimpoint and Trijicon were nice, but were out of my price range. Then I looked at the PA Cyclops with a red and then a green prism. For me, the green was easier to pick up. The last reason I picked it was one could adjust it for astigmatism. The glass is crystal clear and its footprint is very small. In extremely happy with this sight.

new favorite Optic!!!

by -

this is a great 1x prism, it has generous eye relief to my eye, I can mount this on the front end of the AR upper receiver without any loss in sight picture or a noticeable black ring. Looks clear and the reticle suggestions for 300 blk worked well, also took very few adjustments to zero at 50 yards. I also own the new 3x cyclops prism... since Im a tall guy I use the stock fully extended on the AR setup, I found that I need to mount that 3x prism optic on the cantilever riser at the very back of the receiver to get proper sight picture due to the shorter eye relief, however that 3x is a killer prism optic with very functional/accurate bdc for my 7.62x39 AR setup. I think I prefer this 1x prism for the comfortability in sight and setup, and using the straight riser that it comes attached with. Now I'm going to get the FDE version of this 1x.
