GREAT scope!
by Longbow1 -
I own several PA scopes with ACSS reticles, and love them! I purchased this one to mount in a 45-degree offset on my rail so that if a target pops up at close range when my main scope is in a high magnification setting all I have to do is rotate the rifle a little and I'm immediately on target. It works perfectly and is dead on. I plan to buy a couple more of these to replace the old red dots that I have on other guns.
Fantastic, and here's a magnifier tip...
by Curtis
So far, the perfect combat optic that doesn't cost piles of money. Really home run hit by primary arms. I no longer like my LPVO's. Ha!
And now a magnifier tip:
Whereas regular dot scopes work well with scope mounted in front of the magnifier, the SLX works best with magnifier mounted in front of SLX.
If using a magnifier, ensure magnifier and SLX are aligned properly. Place magnifier in FRONT of the SLX. Locate magnifier so the distance between the magnifier rear lens and the front lens of the SLX is the magnifier's eye relief distance. I used the Holosun 3x with a 2.78" eye relief distance. Focus the SLX without the magnifier first, then install the magnifier and focus that on something a distance away. It works fantastically.
Solid build, good reticle design, 'blobby' reticle edges.
by Eli -
All around solid optic build. Glass is clear with very little edge distortion and great eye relief. For reference, I have it mounted on the far front of the upper receiver with a Vltor EMOD on a A5 buffer tube set to the number 2 position. My biggest complaint is the reticle is not as crisp as I was hoping. Under a Vortex VMX-3T magnifier with ocular lens dialed in on both optics, the SLx exhibits an unrefined reticle. The chevron almost seems rounded off and the range finding hashes have blobbed tips left to right. It is a bright and good design, but I cannot overlook the reticle quality.
This thing is solid
by Mark from Tennessee -
In a market saturated with fancy over the top tacticool stuff, it's hard to find something simple, that just gets the job done and just works. The glass is surprisingly clear, the reticle very visible and easy to see, the illumination is in fact daylight bright, and easy to zero. Functions as described, installation options are awesome and easy. PA has come a very long way, and this optic is awesome. I've purchased two of these and will continue to punish them on my two 762x39 rifles. So far, so go...if anything changes, I'll change my review. But I don't expect it to. This thing is solid.
Very good

I have the red in fde also, and like this too. I’ve had it out a few times and given that it’s fall here, it’s daylight bright. I especially like the green inside- it pulls the eye great. I really need to work on tbox shots in close… I miss the eotech bottom line…but that’s a shooter issue. Great optic.
Great optic, but….
by Bob Henrich
Have several of these and love them. One and only drawback is the narrow illumination knob makes adjustments almost impossible with wet or cold hands. Really needs a wider and more aggressive tire.
Great Optic for Astigmatism but torque specs are way off
by Bruce H. -
I love these optics for my old eyes and while not as good as a red dot stand-off they are perfectly fine to acquire a target in short order and crystal clear. However, Primary Arms needs to issue a notice to all its customers to not follow the torque specs, which are way too high as listed in the enclosed manual, and give new specs; otherwise, they need to have higher strength fasteners included. I torqued to under spec and the cross bolts broke on two of my mounts.
Best Bang for the Buck!
by Johnny -
Great quality in feel and function. Sturdy mount. Clear and crisp reticle.
I love the battery auto-shutoff feature since it's always ready when needed. Also, because the reticle is etched, no need for a backup iron sight for me. Saved me some weight and one less sight to have to check, to zero and worry about. I love it overall and planning on getting another one for my next AR build.
Top notch optic
by Djv
Always was use to seeing a blurry dot because my astigmatism well now with this 1x prism optic the reticle is super crisp and I love that it's etched in case of battery power loss. Great job P.A. you guys got a customer for life.
Shotgun sight
by Woody
This sight with ADM low mount on my 1301 worked very well. To start off i moved negative 20 clicks at 25 yrds. Very close to poa poi. Zeroed in three slugs. Aging eyes are a thing of the past now. Completely satisfied with this purchase. Great product from PA and ADM.
