The Radian Raptor SD AR-15 charging handle is a vented, ambidextrous upgrade designed to overcome the limitations of the standard AR-15 charging handle — replacing the small single-side latch with large, textured latches on both sides and adding a vented design that directs gas away from the shooter's face. Built for standard AR-15 platforms, this AR-15 charging handle is machined from 7075 aluminum with a black mil-spec anodized finish.
The Radian Raptor SD is an ambidextrous, vented AR-15 charging handle machined from 7075 aluminum with a black mil-spec anodized finish, featuring large textured latches on both sides for fast manipulation using the thumb, palm, or fingers from either hand.
Large, textured latches on both sides of the handle allow fast, intuitive manipulation from either hand — whether using the thumb, palm, or fingers — making the handle equally accessible for right- and left-handed shooters. The latch size and texture are sufficient for reliable one-handed charging without requiring a precise two-finger grip. The SD vented design directs gas away from the shooter's face, a feature that provides meaningful benefit on suppressed rifles where back-pressure increases the volume of gas pushed rearward. 7075 aluminum construction provides the strength and reliability needed to withstand extended use without bending or failing.

Worth the money

If you plan on running a suppressor on your rifle, this really does help reduce the amount of gas in your face. It won't completely eliminate it, but it does make a very noticeable difference and makes shooting suppressed much more enjoyable. Without the can on, it still functions as a high quality ambi-charging handle. Well worth the investment.

Expensive? Yes. However, this is really the only charging handle that, from my observation, seems to provide a difference in gas diffusion in the receiver when shooting suppressed. Build quality is typical Radian, which is always good to go.
