Details

The Spike’s Tactical Dynacomp Short is a 5.56 NATO muzzle device designed to reduce recoil impulse and muzzle climb to provide faster follow up shots. The Dynacomp accomplishes this by balancing the direction of the blast along the vertical (upward) and perpendicular planes of the muzzle to lower muzzle rise, while the end of the device restricts forward energy to reduce parallel recoil. The ports on the Spikes Dynacomp Short are ball dimpled for smooth expansion of gases and rapid heat dissipation. The front of the device is 0.25" thick to better handle the abuse of full auto fire. The entire device is Melonite treated to enhance these characteristics and provide a slick black finish. 

Note: The Short model will not bring a 14.5" barrel to legal (non-NFA) length when pinned.

Nice short muzzle device!

Looks great on my build. Works as advertised. Reduces my AR's muzzle climb. Follow up shots are quicker. A bit more of a flash than my old muzzle device.

Spike's Dynacomp Shorty muzzle break significantly moderates the recoil impulse on my mid length 16" rifle to a mild, straight back nudge. Lateral pressures and subsequent blast are lower than other muzzle breaks I own. As always, Primary Arms freakin' amazes me every time I place an order, I get my order confirmation immediately and "your order has shipped" notification within hours and my order arrives in a couple of days (here, behind enemy lines in occupied CA). I order A LOT of gear and parts on the net from a lot of companies... NO ONE beats Primary Arms in speed and service. SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC

Excellent comp

I recently purchased, mounted and fired the "shorty" comp and it worked great. It was no louder than the other ARs on the line, it had less concussion on the snow in front of the muzzle, and it had a definate reduction in recoil and muzzle rise compared to others with the A2 standard brake. Im sure its not a flash hider by any means, but is way softer shooting. Ill be using this on my other barrel.
