Excellent Product! Works like a charm.

WeaponTech BHO AK47 mag followers

by

Installed over 20 of these in a variety of AK47 mags. They all work as described by the maker in my AKs and a CMMG Mk 47. A definite plus to have the BHO feature.

Work as advertised

Easy to install. It does what they say it does.

Worked with every mag

Works

These work perfectly for any magazine. Good thing to have for those old mil surplus magazines

Works great!

I put one in a promag, one in a metal foreign mag, and one in a tapco mag, and they all work perfect. I'll definitely be ordering more of these.

Oh yeah, that's the stuff!

I had the idea to make something like this not long after I found out about Yugoslavian bolt hold open magazines but it never went anywhere. Glad I wasn't the only one who had the idea. These mag followers are great, even though they are polymer I have never had a hiccup with them in a variety of different surplus metal magazines. Think I will see if they work in a Russian Red Bakelite.

Follow up to my initial review.

My previous review stated that these worked well in my plastic mags (Tapco / Magpul). I used all of the followers that I bought before getting to my Tapco mags. Based on the outside geometry I did not see any reason why they wouldn't worked. Decided to try one today and found that the generation of Tapco mags that I have has an alignment groove cut in the original follower and a mating rib on the inside of the mag. The original follower sides are shorter to line up behind that rib. Hence these will not go into the mag without some Dremel modifications.

Depends on the magazines.

I bought several packages of these followers. I first tried to install them in some of my steel magazines. I have loaded and used all of these mages so I know that they are functional. Some of the mags would not accept the follower. I compared those that would accept the followers to those that would not and it appears that there is enough of a dimensional difference to cause a problem. I'm sure with a little Dremel work the followers would work fine in the narrow mags. All of my plastic mags (Tapco / Magpul) readily accepted the followers. Tested them in my AKs and the bolt does lock back when the mag is empty. The downside to the AKs (not the followers) is that the bolt then closes as soon as you remove the mag. All that being said I have ordered more of these because they work when the mag is empty.
