Awesome Conversion Kit for Any AR-15 Rifle
by Love_AR_Rifles -
This is well worth the purchase in my opinion. I was able to shoot 250 rounds of .22LR through this BCG the first time out with only one FTF. I shout Remington Hollow point Rounds through it. I used a 18" 223 Wylde Barrel, 8.5" 5.56 Barrel and a 16" 5.56 barrel. This thing allowed the .22LR to shoot on paper so well. I have found a new way to shoot my rifles, but at a much cheaper rate now. Thank you Primary Arms for the sale price and thank you CMMG for coming out with this.
a must have for any ar15 owner.
great kit at first i wa worried because of constant jams..feed no fire or stove pipes or no fire. but once i hot around 150-200 rounds it was going through mags no issue. ive put around 2000 so far since i purchased it and very happy with it easy to clean and use. built a whole new upper just for this kit. others that shoot it are shocked an ar can be converted to shoot 22 so easy.
Works great. So happy I bought it!

I have shot about 200 or so rounds with a few different ammunition and this conversion kit has worked flawlessly. I had few failure to extract from the bulk boxes but that's to be expected. This definitely worth the investment as it makes it very cheap to shot and it pretty fun.
<br>My only negative is that the BCG had a very hard time fitting all the way in my upper receiver. I have Palmetto State upper. Now the only way I was able to get to sit all the way in was to lightly sand the bronze circular thing (or whatever that piece of metal is ) and literally pound the BCG in the receiver so it can fit flush. I had to this about 30 times rotating that piece so it can come easy. As of right now I don't have pound to much. I just use the spring power in charge handle to put in place. Taking out of upper receiver is a bit difficult. Over time it will eventually be all evened out for my AR15. At this time I'm enjoying the crap out of it
great deal and works great....

this kit works awesome...highly recommend it
Barrel Collar Doesn't Fit
by Aaron -
This kit DOES NOT work with PSA uppers. The brass collar that goes around the "Barrel" of the conversion kit was .0365 inches larger than the body of my regular AR-15 bolt, which meant it couldn't sit inside the locking lugs like it's supposed to. Currently contacting CMMG to see if I can get a replacement collar that actually fits, or if I can't, a refund from Primary Arms.
NOTICE FOR AR-15 PALMETTO STATE ARMORY UPPER OWNERS
by Aaron -
I complained in another review about the brass collar on the conversion kit not fitting into the chamber of my AR-15 due to the tight tolerances of PSA's uppers, and contacted CMMG about this attempting to remedy the situation. CMMG couldn't replace the brass collar with a differently sized one, but I was put in contact with their technical support, who offered me a solution: Sand down the collar a few thousandths. So I put the collar on a bolt and locked it in with a nut, chucked the bolt up in a drill, wrapped some sandpaper around it, and went to work. Took about 30 minutes of slowly sanding away the brass and checking the diameter with some calipers before I was able to chamber the thing completely. Afterwards, it runs like a dream, without even a single failure through any of the 400 rounds I put through it the day after modifying it.
Works well with 20 rounds in magazines
by Art -
Installed on Springfield Saint AR15 Pistol. Fired 300 rounds after thoroughly oiling and cleaning the kit; cycled beautifully. Only 2 failure to feed when magazine was loaded with (maxed) 25 rounds. Loaded the magazine with 20 rounds and mag dumped on target; fired with no failure. Maybe when mags are fully broken in, will try maxing out the mag capacity. Awesome kit!
May not fit in your 556 chambered barrel.
by Larry -
I have a Det-Ton rifle and a PSA pistol. Both chambered in 556. The two BCG's can be interchanged and work fine in either. The CMMG Conversion Kit fits and fires okay in the Del-Ton but will not fit in the PSA? The brass bushing diameter is too large to seat in the PSA chamber.
Works as Advertised So Far
Used for the first time yesterday. No problems shooting 200 rounds +/- with my PSA M4 carbine w/ CCI Green Tag ammo. I didn't have any of the fit issues that some other reviewers have mentioned with the bolt.
<br>Also, not really a "review" note, but I noticed that the sighting is very close with the 22LR (vs .223) at up to about 70 yards. I had assumed some manual adjustment would be required, but not really...which is handy.
Works as Advertised So Far
Works great with my PSA M4 upper. None of the PSA bolt fit issues some others have noted. No problems with 200 +/- rounds of CCI Green Tag ammo.
Package was opened.

Sent me a used one. Package said was opened for website picture but package was damaged. Have not tried it yet so not sure how it works. Will not purchase again.
<br>From PA: The "opened to take pictures" sticker is for when our photography department has to open a product in order to take pictures for our website. If there's anything wrong with your product we'll be happy to swap it out or accept a return.

It's okay to plink with but the magazines are hell to load and won't hold 25 without acting up so I just put 20 rounds in them. The typical shell casing jamming in the charging handle happened once every mag full. I ordered the fix from bore buddy. Dumping a full mag seemed to work better than squeezing off one at a time for some reason. Overall I guess I'll hand on to it just for the versatility aspect.
Good value, lots of fun!

I bought this item about two weeks ago and took it to the range to try it out. It worked flawlessly right out of the package, no miss feeds or jams, and I wasn't using top grade ammo. Accuracy was pretty good, it was just a lot of fun to shoot, ran though 200 rounds no problem. Only draw back was the mags are a little hard to load, they are 25 round mags but the last five rounds are hard to get loaded, I ended up only loading 20 in each mag and that worked well. Over all a good deal for the price.
Sometimes things do work like they should.....

Works great after a short break in period. I had a couple double fires in the first mag or 2 but then it cleared up. I was using a BCA upper with a 7.5 inch barrel and it fit and functioned fine. The whole rifle, upper and lower were new with less then 50 rounds through it. The hammer spring is pretty heavy accounting for the double fires I believe. This bolt also fits fine in my PSA upper. The bolt I received didn't have the brass chamber adapter, it was 1 piece stainless instead, and I'm good with that. I'm really happy with the quality of CMMG's converter, seems really well made. Primary Arms prices are good and ships fast and are good to deal with.
Great product and outstanding customer service!
I started off with a bad experience with this kit. The 25 round magazines would only load 12 to 14 rounds before jamming and not allowing more to be inserted. I contacted Primary Arms and they said they hadn't had anyone complain of that problem and to send it back to them and they would exchange the kit. They received my return on a Friday and they had a new one out the same day. I received it on Monday and immediately headed to the range. Absolutely no loading problems. The mags loaded 25 rounds easily and the conversion ran rounds through my AR flawlessly. We dropped it into my son's AR and again did not have a single problem. Hundreds of rounds later, no problems what so ever. I don't know why I got 3 bad mags initially but problem fixed. Big thanks to the guys at Primary. You've won by continued business.
Worth the Price of Admission

This functioned well in a 5.56 PSA upper with a carbine length gas system and carbine buffer and spring. Worked with both 36 and 40 grain 22LR rounds.
Too good to be true!

A friend of mine let me try his because I was a little skeptical on how it works. WOW! Definitely worth the money. Now that I'm getting my nephews into shooting, this really eases the pocket book. Read the instuction because they're right, They will not function well with straight hammer. Would definitely recommend.
Great, definitely loads for fun!

This works great. Put it my M&P15 flawless, put in the PSA not a problem. Copper, lead, and even the polymer coated feed through with out a problem. Had hours of fun for very little $$
Getcha one, you will love it....

As always PA delivered, can't go wrong with this conversion kit, smooth as hell, and simple as pull one bcg out and insert one in, first 3 mags dumps only one hiccup, prob the ammo, I definitely reccomend this.... you won't regret it...
Every AR owner should have one.

Flawlessly fun accessory. Worth every penny. Excellent experience with Primary Arms. I'll be back!
Awesome product, Love it. If it ain't working right read this.

Quick rundown. 1. Do not use magazines as a rest, it will fail to extract/eject, possible slam fire. These magazines are slightly loose in the well for a reason. Let them hang loose. 2. If your 80 lower isn't spot on with machining, it may not work and may fail to fire because the hammer can't reach the firing pin. 3. If your 80 lower is decent but combined with an upper that has the chamber just a little more forward than some, the hammer may not reach the firing pin before contacting the slide catch. 4. It may not work with PSA uppers unless modified. I had all those problems except #4. (I'm ashamed of #1) Working like a charm now. So much fun and accuracy is great for short range. I'm able to dial in the rifle at 50 yrds compensating for bullet drop and then switch to 5.56 rounds to zero in without having to use so much 5.56 ammo. Almost forgot to mention it's so much fun just to plink in the backyard at 4 cents a shell.
Well worth it
Put about 175 rounds through mine today. Worked very well through an M&P 15 Sport. Definitely needed a lot of oil to run consistently. After about 125 rounds I had to re-oil. But it ran great!
Good Deal - Fun To Shoot
Ordered this a few weeks ago. I have a PSA A2 20" upper and was unsure about how it would "fit". It DID fit in the chamber nicely. I've read reviews on this conversion elsewhere and saw some had to do some "fitting" to get the adapter to chamber. I DID NOT have this issue. I ran various rounds from CCI stingers to Quiet and sub sonic as well as an old box of Federal I had laying around. All worked flawlessly. One magazine is having issues when loading more than 12 rounds. The rounds seem to get jumbled if more than 12 are loaded. I have not contacted the vendor or manufacturer yet as I want to clean and lube the magazine to see if this will solve the issue. I have to say I am pretty impressed that it functioned well with low velocity rounds. Would recommend.
Like hot dogs and coca cola
by Franklin Keller
This conversion kit is the next best thing to American hot dogs and Coca Cola. I love 💘 my kit it fires really well through my Palmetto Arms Ar15 with a 16 inch barrel and already have fired about 600 rounds through it no matter what kind of ammo I used. Thank you for a great product
5 star fun at a great price!
After a brief break in and a lot of oil, it would run all 3 mags with an occasional stove pipe, not bad for right out of the package. The new 25 round mags are a little difficult to load but I'm sure after a few hundred through each they will break in too. This kit is worth every penny, the money you will save on ammo will pay for this kit in the first 500rd brick.
